As a little boy I listened to this song from Jim Reeves. Later I discovered a more contemporary version sung by the Dutch band The Cats (1969). Even a more beautiful version.
My mom said this song always reminded her of me. Now that she's passed on, I love to listen to it even more. I miss her so much. Wish I knew when this song first came out. If anyone knows, please let me know. I know Nat King Cole did a wonderful rendition of it, also.

The original was by Jo Stafford in 1949. Jim Reeves recorded it in 1959, he was killed in a plane crash 5 years later, at age 40.
