Welcome to CZcams. I’ve been called every name in the book. No matter how much time, effort, love, and passion you put into a video, there’s always a few people waiting to jump in the comments and tell you how they could do it better. That said, I’ve met some incredible people and made great friendships through being on CZcams and 99% of the people watching my videos are awesome people that have been nothing but kind to me. Brush ‘em off, brother. You do a great job with your channel and you’re appreciated. ❤️
Unfortunately it is the problem of social media, they do not create stupid people but they emphasize stupid people. You go forward, you are a great source of inspiration for those with your same passion.
I agree with Matt, there are always going to be people who will hate on anything they can. Keyboard warriors, meet them in person and they wouldn't even open their mouth. I personally loved how the image came out and that is the process it doesn't always come out 100% every time. Same with the Wet-plate images I do. Keep up the good work.
Matt you are absolutly right, if i look at my viewers that stick to the channel and that came here through a "natural" way and not an external source pushing the video it was all fine. But i guess PetaPixel draws alot of these people out. I'm also happy about the community and that CZcams is such an amazing platform for creators like you and all the other ones. We still need to do something together!
Your creativity is different because you don’t want everything picture perfect, and people can’t stand that, people hate on the fact that you are comfortable with yourself, if they don’t have any constructive criticism don’t listen to it at all
It's actually a good point to pop out. I think, no matter how good you are, how big your effort was, and how much all of these would cost you, there will always be people who can't appreciate your work. i guess it's human nature and also the so called "contrast" of life. Maybe it will keep you reminded of the world you're living in, but it doesn't matter! I came here at first to get informations, because i love to experiment and try out new stuff that i didn't know about photography. I came out wanting to see more. And also, to keep in mind, your Art, might not be other people's art. But what matters is how you see it. Keep it up! Love the ranting. It's really honest. Cheers, Andi from Switzerland
The anonimity of the internet always brings out the worst side of some people. Just know that most of us (silent) watchers enjoy your content and appreciate the work you put into your channel. The rude persons will always shout louder but they're in a minority.
Your work is perfectly imperfect. Your true followers see that. The negative people who come out and think that their standards of beauty are better than yours are blind. Some people's egos are so far up their ass. Don't pay attention to them. It's what they feed on. Your channel is amazing. Your passion is extremely vibrant. Your a beautiful human being. Thank you for your inspiration.
Sending love your way brother! You know the drill, it’s a art form so do you love! And I’ve been wanting to find a better community for sharing and growing in photography. Let’s see what good comes out of this! 👍
It’s funny because I find that in the “real” working world I never really seem to encounter people who leave these those types of comments on CZcams. However if someone ever does talk like that in a social/work situation they are very quickly shunned because nobody wants to work with a schmuck. They need to pray that anyone they want to work for or with in the future never finds out how they talk online as they will forever be known as “that” person. Word of mouth travels very quickly especially in tightly-nit and niche industries. I know with working in film, people are much more cohesive and respectful in person when it comes to discussing and talking about art especially when there’s so much in it that is incredibly subjective. There’s just something strange online here where people are always trying to find a way to “one-up” each other or have some sense of entitlement with poorly constructed feedback or just bizarre off the wall comments as if they didn’t even watch the video. Your work has created an emotional impact on many individuals and I believe that’s all that really matters in the end with this type of content. Not only that, but you’re sharing free and invaluable information on your creative process here. Thanks for all you do!
Thanks so much for this. Yes it just the online bubble people can hide behind that makes them think they can do whatever. I will not stop creating these videos, i really love it and the community is great and people like you that are happy to see the content.
I love your videos, Marco! Especially the one on the ultra-large format Polaroid. Don’t let the bastards get you down. I’m guessing close to zero percent of them have ever tried to create for others, or put themselves out there in any way/shape/form. What you, Matt, and others do takes a lot of time and energy…it’s under appreciated and undervalued. Please keep up the great work…your effort and results are worth it!
We are at a point in technology when we can achieve a perfect analog image, however, it's in imperfection and experimentation that you can find hidden beauty. People don't realize that it can take a lot of bad shots to get a good one. You've been a big inspiration for me to return to and double down on my photography. I'm finding that it's what really makes me happy. Thank you for running this channel. Just know that for every ass-hole who comments, there are a bunch of people who love the channel who don't. Keep up the great work.
You're the man! Thanks for bringing us awesome content and working on building a community around instant photography. Keep those videos coming! Cheers
I'm here for the genuine love of photography (for my own personal well being) and for your tips, tricks and thoughts on the subject, thanks for all your work ✌🏼
Marco, you are a great inspiration for me. This is the reason I am thinking of coming to Vienna some time next year in order to go to Supersense and maybe even have a portrait taken by you on a polaroid. Keep on going strong!
Your big 20x24 polaroid video was Great, i will never get chance to use that camera So nice to see. The nice people on here will always enjoy your efforts and assistance, thanks :)
Not every photo/video/artistic creation comes out perfect. Sometimes you can't help it, but sometimes your goal is imperfection. I just got into film, and I'm learning to live with (and even appreciate) imperfection. This idea finally clicked after I blew through two packs of Instax mini film trying to perfect lighting of a Christmas tree. It just wasn't turning out the way I wanted, but reflecting on the photos a day later, I enjoy how some of the images turned out (even though they are not "perfect"). It's almost relaxing knowing that I can't retake the photo 100+ times to make it perfect, like I could easily do on a digital camera. I think we all need to learn to embrace and even enjoy imperfection a bit more in every part of life. Maybe everyone just needs to shoot more film. 😆
I think it comes with this channel growing, more people means more stupid and annoying people. I just hope it won't make you stop doing your videos, because I love them. Also, saying "chemistry" instead of "chemicals" is like a signature-kind of stuff, I wouldn't change it. :)
Marco, I'm so sorry you had these nasty experiences with some people because you don't deserve it. Please keep up the work on this channel, it's become one of my favourites, and you're incredibly inspiring. There is no such thing as mistakes in art anyway. Chin up, and thank you so much x
Hello!!! I recently found your channel and it is just such a great place to find ideas and challenge me and my photography! It's really amazing. I'm struggling to get good exposure with my Polaroid. It would be great to see a video on making mistakes when shooting outside and what things we can do to stop the image for being too blue, or overexposed. Thanks!
I’m subscribed to your channel because the content and information provided is cool and different. I don’t care if you have a beard, bun or whatever else - but having a Sinar P1 10x8 in the background is super cool. Sadly there are far too many online dipshits who’s only contribution to life is to rain negativity and hatred on others. However their behaviour is more revealing about themselves, and what they lack in life, than the people they target. I’d also suggest that to have haters is a very good indication that you are doing something right. Keep up the excellent work. 👍
I am far from a "photographer" although I did do a lot of Astro imaging years ago.. TBH since phones, watches and everything else has a digital camera in it these days I totally lost interest in ever taking another photo again. I think Polaroid may well just be the format that gets me wanting to take pics again, I love the fact you get a physical picture delivered. I think I will get online and order a few bits and see how I get on.. Also mate do not bite when the negative idiots start commenting, these people would not say it to your face, they hide behind a avatar pissing on peoples work because they lack empathy and their own creativity, people that have the lights on upstairs are far to busy to make such mundane BS comments. The fact is they are normally just not very nice people in general.. Subbed BTW enjoy the content, regards..
I make art with Polaroids, specifically I blow them up to around 45" x 45" and I colour them, they are manipulated to be dark and soft/out of focus.... I was in an art show, and a guy came up to me and said "you know your photos are out of focus, I take photos, am an amateur but all mine are in focus, I look at them and they are pin perfect sharp". I deal with photographers like this alot so I laughed and tried to explain, am also a commercial photographer, he could not wrap his head around that it was meant to be how it was and not 'technically perfect", thats how he thinks all photography 'should be'. They are around i'm afraid, especially on the internet. Firstly, the most important thing EVER, is that YOU like the image. Secondly: you contribute something meaningful, and the PP/DPR/FS crowd hate that. Thirdly: for what its worth, I loved that image too. Keep on keeping on. You have a great channel.
Marco, I very much value your videos and appreciate the time and effort you put into them. Its a shame that there are people who have no self-respect and feel that they have a right to belittle others. Keep on, they just don't get it, and they certainly are not worthy of your time and attention.
2:22 hintergrundmusik hätte in heavy metal switchen müssen :D ich mag dein content, ich weiss echt nicht was diese spackos haben, do your thing, und deine echten fans werden bleiben. qualität über quantität 👌
I"m glad you told them off... good for you Marco.... they're just Trolls and like you said, dumb... Keep up the great work... cheers, bravo..... Joe in Toronto Canada
Hahaha loved your rant - sounds a lot like how I would react 😂 THANK YOU for supporting not just instant photography, but also newbies (like me!) who just got their first camera - honestly, photography snobbery is something that gets on my nerves and I am sad to find out that it is actually a thing out there and that it's a lot more common that I thought at first - oh well, haters will always hate...it's them, not us 😉 By the way, do you have a professional website/platform where you exhibit your work? I loved the video on how to be creative with instant photos (montage, etc) - would love some more ideas for displaying and playing with photos (just an idea!) 😬 P.S. Aleluia, I have met someone who shares my insights concerning Instagram!!! Phewww - I am not alone! #AnalogRocks 😆 P.S.1 - Don't you just love when English native speakers complain about your level of English when 99% of then don't even speak a second language?! 😉
Marco. Dont give them value, ignore them and they will die. Dont put effort at all. They dont worth spitting on. Never get hurt. You are a beautiful humain being. Get stronger and be more creative and they will shut up. You are a great artist.
Sounds cool, would be great to have a good advice from you as an experienced photographer for the ones like me who are kinda new in the analog world. Great stuff as always, love your channel, very informative reviews and good ideas with instant film which is my favorite topic. And well seeing I wasn't lucky with the giveaway I'll buy the onestep plus very soon...regards!
What's wrong with your beard? I wish I could grow mine as glorious as yours! Bro, I know how annoying it is to be in that position, and even though we don't really care about their stupid comments and remarks it affects the experience we are trying to share with the community after all the time, money and effort. I love your videos man, learn so much from them and all of us film newbies greatly appreciate you videos. Keep it up!
I am sorry that you have to deal with these people. I wish it was easy to ignore them, but, it is tricky. Keep going Marco, your videos have been informative and entertaining to me.
What would you recommend as my first instant camera? Like i already used the instax mini, i don’t really like the small frame size. (too small) i want something that is a gateway to photography especially instant photography. i wanna take pics of everything. and create my own vibe. I was thinking about the older one step but i don’t know if it’s reliable. i feel like the one step 2 is too bulky and too casual for me. but then again i have like a tight budget & i want a good camera that is versatile reliable and takes good memorable pics. cheers, i love ur vibe like carry on man.
People are people, don’t take it personally. « Perfection » is boring, character is what makes an image stands out IMO. You make great images and videos mate!
Sometimes such unnecessary comments can get to you, and it's healthy to vent. Just know that for every single troll, there are hundreds who appreciate the risks of imperfections the photography you do entails, who are aware that mastering a foreign language's nuances in vocabulary can be tricky, and who can only applaud you for your glorious beard ;) As for myself, your videos always help me get informed, be entertained, and stay passionate - thank you for that, looking forward to many more!
loved the rant, very honest and very true sadly. I specifically try and keep my own photography to a minimum on instagram and use it for inspiration from other photographers and posting pictures of cameras because i like that too hahaha
Marco keep making them video's man! Honestly! I think you're doing a great job and I enjoy watching them! There's always a Mr. Know it all out there! Don't let them fucking dumb asses get you all upset man!
I watched that video and it never occurred to me to criticize it. I was interested in seeing a rare camera, and what you had to go through to shoot with it. I watch a lot of photography videos and when I see the thumbs down number I wonder what they could be complaining about.
I'm sorry that you get these comments, just try to ignore them! These comments always come when there are more views, I guess this is just the internet. Anyway, I really like your channel and really appreciate your work!
I liked that 20x24 image... even when they are perfect, the crappy edges are what gives the image their character. Have a look at Elsa Dorfman's work: www.elsadorfman.com/categories/1-portraits/albums/7-couples. There's a documentary about her on Netflix; The B-Side. Your hair and beard; great. Cept your beard is better than mine. Pah.
Think you're brilliant, Marko. I agree with Matt Day: it is unfortunately part of CZcams. You're right for voicing your frustration though, because it shouldn't be part of it. Genuinely really enjoy your content, and I think you're doing something unique here. Building a great community by producing great content. Brilliant work - keep it up!
Thanks michael, it's always good to get positive feedback and i know there is haters and they dont trigger me that much but with the 20x24 it was different
@@AnalogThings Yeah, I can't put my finger on why that video drew so much negative attention. Regardless, know that the ones who already follow you think you're producing great work, the 20x24 video included. As for everyone else, they can do one.
I'm sorry you've been getting this "feedback" (I'm not sure you can even call it feedback). There's a lot more people who watch and enjoy your videos than the ones who don't have anything better to do than to leave an unnecessary, rude comment.
I loved the 24" video, we have one a bit older all one piece... To bad no film and pods. And yes trolls are everywhere. Keyboard hero's just laugh em of.
I hope you don't mind a long comment, but one day my son and I balanced some stones in front of our hotel patio on the beach. We sat on the patio and I told him. "some people will come along and add to it, they will build another stack of stones.. and others will kick it over, stay away from the people that like to kick things over"
Great video, like always! (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) Keep up the great work! I have learned a lot from your videos, so thank you! Oh and I Can’t wait to see the upcoming videos on your feedback to your viewers!
I’m not crazy about the foul language you used on this video...however, you are 100% correct! Discard the opinions of trolls, morons, creeps, and the angry! The opinions of these types of people are merely background static...their thoughts and opinions are meaningless. Keep up the good work! Your videos are quite informative and well made. Do your best and don’t be discouraged! Take care!
Those who only comment about your appearance are just to stupid to acknowledge the good contact you create. I'll try to send some of my pictures which if I can scan them properly😹

You said 200% correct Marco. Keep doing what you are doing that there are lots of ppl loving it!
thanks keigo
Marco you are brilliant, knowledgable, interesting and creative I love your channel keep doing what you do.
I enjoy your channel because you bring a very fresh perspective to photography and above all, you focus on creativity.

I loved the video on how to be creative with instant photos (montage, etc) - would love some more ideas for displaying and playing with photos (just an idea!) 😬
P.S. Aleluia, I have met someone who shares my insights concerning Instagram!!! Phewww - I am not alone! #AnalogRocks 😆
P.S.1 - Don't you just love when English native speakers complain about your level of English when 99% of then don't even speak a second language?! 😉
They're old curmudgeons poking sticks at the sky. Keep up the great work! Really enjoyed your 20x24 video! #shootfilmbenice
Marco. Dont give them value, ignore them and they will die. Dont put effort at all. They dont worth spitting on. Never get hurt. You are a beautiful humain being. Get stronger and be more creative and they will shut up. You are a great artist.
I think you're terrific. Don't let it bug you too much.
I believe embracing imperfection helps me find the good in life and others. Keep up the good work mate.
thanks jon
You look like a good guy... you sound like a good guy... you make good things like a good guy. Don't fell bad for bad people.
Don’t bother about these “feedback”. Keep up the good work, Marco!!
thanks sandra
Sounds cool, would be great to have a good advice from you as an experienced photographer for the ones like me who are kinda new in the analog world. Great stuff as always, love your channel, very informative reviews and good ideas with instant film which is my favorite topic. And well seeing I wasn't lucky with the giveaway I'll buy the onestep plus very soon...regards!
yeah, send a small selection of your photos and i will give you some feedback. maybe the next giveaway will be better for you ;)
What's wrong with your beard? I wish I could grow mine as glorious as yours! Bro, I know how annoying it is to be in that position, and even though we don't really care about their stupid comments and remarks it affects the experience we are trying to share with the community after all the time, money and effort. I love your videos man, learn so much from them and all of us film newbies greatly appreciate you videos. Keep it up!
thanks alot ;) yeah, it's just something that gets under your skin from time to time
I am sorry that you have to deal with these people. I wish it was easy to ignore them, but, it is tricky. Keep going Marco, your videos have been informative and entertaining to me.
thanks emily
dont worry abt it we a fam haters aint nothing keep on taking pics!!! :)
I always love your videos. Such an inspiration. I take a lot of photos with my sx70, and I would love to if you can discuss them on your channel.
just send me an email and i will try to get to some of you
What would you recommend as my first instant camera?
Like i already used the instax mini, i don’t really like the small frame size. (too small)
i want something that is a gateway to photography especially instant photography. i wanna take pics of everything. and create my own vibe.
Just know that for every single troll, there are hundreds who appreciate the risks of imperfections the photography you do entails, who are aware that mastering a foreign language's nuances in vocabulary can be tricky, and who can only applaud you for your glorious beard ;) As for myself, your videos always help me get informed, be entertained, and stay passionate - thank you for that, looking forward to many more!
haha thanks and what more to say a man without a beard is a woman ;)
loved the rant, very honest and very true sadly. I specifically try and keep my own photography to a minimum on instagram and use it for inspiration from other photographers and posting pictures of cameras because i like that too hahaha
haha yeah, jahan always says that if he posts an image with the leica on it, it will perfom way better
Love your videos! Keep them coming!
Love your photography work ! Love the artistic looks ! I hate internet trolls ! Love your channel, I Like how you get technical about cameras
Thanks Kyle you have been a great support and it's nice that you stick around!
Marco keep making them video's man! Honestly! I think you're doing a great job and I enjoy watching them! There's always a Mr. Know it all out there! Don't let them fucking dumb asses get you all upset man!
it just gets you sometimes, everything is good dont worry ;)
2022 here. Things haven't changed that much 😥
true
I watched that video and it never occurred to me to criticize it. I was interested in seeing a rare camera, and what you had to go through to shoot with it. I watch a lot of photography videos and when I see the thumbs down number I wonder what they could be complaining about.
yeah, i get thumbs down but the ratio on my channel is so good that i dont mind a few thumbs down
I'm sorry that you get these comments, just try to ignore them! These comments always come when there are more views, I guess this is just the internet. Anyway, I really like your channel and really appreciate your work!
Thanks ;)
Ignore those obnoxious bullies.
There's a lot more people who watch and enjoy your videos than the ones who don't have anything better to do than to leave an unnecessary, rude comment.
yeah, it's just single people but they manage to ruin your day
I loved the 24" video, we have one a bit older all one piece... To bad no film and pods. And yes trolls are everywhere. Keyboard hero's just laugh em of.
you have a 24" camera?
@@AnalogThings yes we have a old one I think first type. We is a group of film photo maniacs.
I enjoyed your video, photography is supposed to be about fun the hell with what other people say don’t pay attention there not worth it.
Polaroids mess up, it's an integral part of the process, for me at least. Keep being an inspiration Marco!
yeah it's always an adventure
I hope you don't mind a long comment, but one day my son and I balanced some stones in front of our hotel patio on the beach. We sat on the patio and I told him. "some people will come along and add to it, they will build another stack of stones.. and others will kick it over, stay away from the people that like to kick things over"
thats a really good one, have to keep that in mind ;) sometimes you just need to rebuild, but everything is fine
Ignore the tossers m8!!! Your stuff's wicked! I wouldn't be here if it wasn't!
I think a lot of people are just plain jerks. It seems to happen in every community for a skill or hobby, called gate keeping or being a c**t
thats true, it happens to everything that puts itself out there
... it's a plat platform... ;-) (no I am just kidding, positively friendly). I am grateful for your help, just saying.
I like man buns. I want one
Haters gonna hate ...
Great video, like always! (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) Keep up the great work! I have learned a lot from your videos, so thank you! Oh and I Can’t wait to see the upcoming videos on your feedback to your viewers!
Yeah, me too the photos are already popping into my inbox.
Take care!
positive criticism + bad criticism + positive criticism = shit sandwich hahaha
wrong wording ;) constructiv but criticism is something important for our development
Just ignore them mate , no one would dare say it to your face , cause they are full of bullshit 😉
Those who only comment about your appearance are just to stupid to acknowledge the good contact you create. I'll try to send some of my pictures which if I can scan them properly😹
looking forward
