LYRICS:
Aish trees gave their keys,
yet none will set me free.
The woody nightshade drooped her beads
an’ bade, Come feed on these.
Look behind yourself, red eyed
’gainst the wilder-mist to what you’ll find
I ascend three steps to hell.
The school bus heaves up the hill
The sloey spears on Witches Mead
cussed, Come and lean on these!
Look behind yourself, red eyed
’gainst the wilder-mist to what you’ll find

This album is profound, graceful, and disorienting. PJ is like no one else and her work is about as pure as it gets. This is a brilliant album for listening to on a road trip.
One of her finest albums, and that's really saying something. Check out the poetry, too.
Another epic album from the multi talented pj harvey. Each album a departure from the last, like a fine wine she matures.
That is something else. That piano chord progression is both unnerving and euphoric at the same time. Like autumn sun. We know winter is coming, but let us enjoy the warmth while it lasts.
PJ: what you do repairs my soul. Thank god for you and your music
one of the best albums ever made.
The most talented and beautiful women who has ever existed. 💋💋💋❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I agree, I can't stop listening, everyday to work and back and house chores, it gets better each listen
@@neroltecneops59I call it "The Polly effect" it's so majestic and it's what literally ONLY PJ HARVEY can do. She's been my favorite since I first heard her and just when I think I can't love her music more BOOM she gifts us with another beautiful, romantic, innerchild comfort soul hug music. She continues to awe me and I continue to listen in adoration and gratitude.
I'd like to see Annie Clark and Polly do an album together.
That would be absolutely Wild!
I'm having to listen to this about 8;times a day. Is so sad but beautiful.
truely original, PJ you're a genius
Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it
Again. Not sure at the beginning and loving it at the end. How does she come up with all these ideas. In every album.
Because she is a genius.😊
I’ll have to relisten to this in Autumn
A shimmering pearl with true authentic style and sound ... experience and exploring...
Think of Björk and Tom Yorke of radiohead.
Definitely very Radiohead in style and the chord progression is magical. Just get Thom to sing it.

Pj Harvey cannot be described ❤ i all honesty
SO GOOD !! PJ !!🎸
Great, great, great!
Incredible! :-D
Fantastic, among various sound authenticies there is good old blues underneath, great discovery
Unique, ethereal, love it as everything you do, but PJ, you have such a strong beautiful rock pipes in a league of their own that always make me kick myself in the ass to stop whining and do something, please release them again in future ❤
Calming
Gracias genia. De lo mas cercano a Dios que pueda existir.
My personal favorite...for now anyway...the whole genius album's taking it's 'toll' on me :)
Autumn Term, straight after the glorious Summer holidays.
Yuk!
Entrancing
Although I’ve been in the same room as Polly Jean I’ve never had the privilege of being introduced to her. That said, she has shattered my heart into a million pieces, a pain as fierce and irreconcilable……..the only, ONLY, remedy would be her unconditional love and proposal of marriage. So Polly, you know what you SIMPLY must do to save a life (namely mine). My darling Polly, I love you. ❤
Wonderfull 🎉
Omg cool
Great...PJ.....thanks.
Sounds like the sadly departed Mark Linkous in places
AMAZING AS USUAL
Hello, I really like The Wind song, so thanks
ty always moving
Cool ♡
I like it!!! Thank you!!!

❤
Hi PJ
Sounds like Neil Young 😮
🤗
By far the greatest regret and sadness in my entire existence is my failure to romance and marry Polly Harvey. I cry myself to sleep every night dreaming of cuddling her and basking in her great beauty and mystical aura.

Love the music but those vocals are just not doing it for me.
Really not feeling those vocals...
they are remarkable, truly something else
@@BlackThyme remarkably bad
@@Chaziltasm you seem to be in the minority. What marks would you use to describe your assessment that her vocals are bad, for example, by what standard do you use as comparison, or how do you come to your conclusion
@@BlackThyme it's called common sense and having ears. The singing from her is okay but from John Parish is just shrill, barely holding a note, squeaky, shakey and incredibly pitchy. It's basically the definition of bad singing.
@@Chaziltasm it's not common sense because everyone else disagrees with you
What is that other person singing? Sounds nasty, like a muppet
😩😫🤮
