In my opinion, the film "Jezebel" is a stupid, pretentious anticipation of "Gone with the Wind," nothing more. Apparently, as "Jezebel" started filming, they heard that the future blockbuster was going forward. So "Jezebel" tried to get the jump on "Gone with the Wind." They failed miserably. There's the southern belle (meh); the rejection of a lover until regret (meh); the entrance in a red dress (compare Jezebel's entrance in black and white with Gone with the Wind in COLOR!), and the wagon scene (Henry Fonda vs. Olivia de Haviland).
I will stich with "Now, Voyager" as Bette Davis's best picture.
