    Bryan talks with legendary free diver about his sport and his breath work that has made him a world record holder
    UMBERTO PELIZZARI was born on August 28, 1965 in Busto Arsizio, in the province of Varese.
    1.89 m tall for 84 kg weight, it boasts a lung capacity of 7.9 liters.
    He sets his first world record in deep freediving in constant weight on November 10, 1990, in Porto Azzurro, Elba Island: Umberto amazes everyone by obtaining, on his debut in this difficult discipline, the new world record in weight diving in free diving. steady, hitting an altitude of -65 meters and beating the record set by Pipin Ferreras just two months earlier by 3 meters. This date will be the beginning of a "last breath" challenge between these two athletes who will monopolize the world of freediving for the next 15 years.
    In September 1991 on Elba, he conquers all freediving records: on October 3 he descends in constant weight to -67 meters, improving his previous limit by 2 meters and on the 22 of the same month he also obtains the world diving record freediving in variable weight reaching -95 meters and thus improving the record conquered by Pipin in September 90 in Milazzo by three meters. On 26 October, he achieved his third world triumph in a month, also conquering the absolute record for freediving with -118 meters
    On 17 September 1992, in Ustica, Umberto regained the world record for free diving in constant weight with -70 meters that had been snatched from him on 27 May of the same year by Pipin.
    On 11 October 1993, off the coast of Montecristo, he established a new record in "no limits" variable weight, descending to -123 meters.
    On July 24, 1994, in Cala Gonone, Sardinia, Pelizzari conquers the new world record for free diving in regulated variable weight, dropping to -101.
    In 1995, during a series of medical tests, conducted by the team of Prof. Piergiorgio Data, at the University of Medicine of Swimming in Chieti, after eight minutes of oxygen ventilation, Umberto Pelizzari held his breath for the incredible time of 19'56 '': science is incredulous!
