      I currently have both the 6kpro and the pocket 4K. I can say oddly enough the image quality of the 6k pro is better the highlights and oddly the dynamic range seem to be better idk if it’s just me.

    Thank you for mentioning the need for a 4K Pro! I've been saying this for a while. For people like me who are invested in MFT glass like Voigtlander, SLR Magic, or Veydra, we'd like to get one last camera to have for a few years before giving up on the dying system. Blackmagic is so close with already having engineered the Pocket 4K and 6K Pro. It seems like a very doable choice if enough people let them know there is a demand.

    • @OfTwoLands
      @OfTwoLands  Před 3 lety +3

      A 4K Pro would be amazing !! And yes for sure, I also have MFT glass and for me a 4K Pro would be the ultimate travel and personal cam since it's slightly smaller and lighter than the 6Ks :).

      A P4K Pro would be awesome. Like you, I've got a lot of m43 lenses and the space/weight savings, plus the ability to use a Speedbooster, would make 4K Pro a very good option.

    • @jeremyevantaylor1724
      @jeremyevantaylor1724 Před 3 lety +3

      @@raksh9 I agree with you. The other big argument for a 4K Pro is that in order to shoot at 4K on the 6K Pro, you get a crop factor that is even worse than the Pocket 4K. If I'm going to be shooting at a crop factor that is between standard m4/3 and s16, I'd better get a smaller form factor and be able to use my smaller, m4/3 lenses. With a Speedbooster, you actually can shoot at a much less significant crop factor on the Pocket 4K in 4K than on the 6K Pro. That kind of negates the point to me. Those of us doing client work for local businesses and making short films don't need to be shooting 6k Raw all the time.

    Thanks for the video! I think the BMPCC 6K is the best camera product that Blackmagic has ever released, and I feel like it was the BMPCC 6K should have been at the begining, in comparison the 4k is a way better camera than the original 6K in overall practice in field, but the original 6K does hold a little better (if not way better) noise control in the RAW image quality, with this PRO update it just perfects the original 6K and makes a really really amazing cinema camera not just for its price, but as an individual professional tool as well.

    I was very close to upgrading to this for the very reason you mentioned: viable option even without rigging. But the difference between my existing external NDs and the internal ones are pretty huge and in my country ND is as necessary as a lens 😅. So I am sticking with my P4K for now and decided to finish my lens set instead. But I honestly love where the pocket line is headed.

      They say you should marry your lenses, but only date your camera. I too will wait until I have 3 primes and 1 zoom. Create first, and learn to edit and color-grade, for that is where a "sense of achievement" is accomplished. Don't do gear porn. I chose the Canon mount, because it is the largest in diameter, and affords some retro-fit for all manner of lenses.

    What are your thoughts on the Canon C70? I'm not sure which to choose, between the BMPCC 6k Pro and the C70.... HUGE PRICE GAP! I know that you are a Canon Shooter as well, so you are familiar with the advantages of both systems.
    I found a BMPCC 1080 for just $350 AUD... So that I can get my head around a Black Magic workflow.

      I think from I've heard and seen, the C70 is a solid camera, especially for run and gun situations and doco work. But for the price not as good value as the BMPCC6K.
      That being said it probably depends on how important the auto focus for your work is as well as which form factor you prefer.

    14:00 perfect camera would be if BM put 6k pro sensor and ND filters in a Boxed shaped body. it can be slightly bigger then Red Komodo to fit those internal ND filters but smaller then URSA mini. as they fit it in BMPCC 6k pro body so its possible to put it in a small square shape body too.

    great review sums the camera up nicely. I think if this was on offer when I was looking at my Zcam I would of probably went for this. Just as going out to shoot with my camera sometimes feels like an effort if it is just for me. My opinion on auto focus has certainly shifted after going back to manual focusing - I just prefer the look to be honest and how natural it is. I certainly thought id miss that more. found your channel really helpful- especially that will help me pick a camera- went for the BMPCC6Kpro. I am at University and on budget and want to get a Canon EF L IS lens, at f4 but am unsure whether to get the 16-35 or the 24-105? Wondered which lens is better quality(with more pros than cons) as I saw you own both... any ideas?

    • @OfTwoLands
      @OfTwoLands  Před 2 lety

      Hey, thank you !!
      Both lenses are great and between the two it just depends on what focal lengths you need. If you need more wide then the 16-35 and if you need the longer end then the 24-105. Do keep in mind the 16-35 has internal zooming which is much better for matte boxes and is also lighter, smaller and cheaper :).

But there is a big issue: when I got my camera the display was not working, so I returned it at the same day and received a new one. After two months now I am having the same problem.
