    Private citizens do carry extra mags for the record. mag malfunctions do happen.

    I love what you’re saying, but I will never remember that. Please take this as constructive criticism from a place of love. We’ve got to work on that acronym, John. I can’t remember TAP IFFS sober and with a resting heart rate. Now add adrenaline. Let’s workshop this one, please. I love what you’re saying, but the only thing I can remember about the acronym is that it’s not a real word. If you could rework it into something like “tap-out” or something memorable (without using weird words to make it work), that would make it so much more capable of a tool.

      It’s a mnemonic my friend. Known memory device. Learn the actual priorities and then the acronym can help with memory in the moment.

      You are probably right that you won't remember so what you need to do is train to the standard. You will see a lot of people in training look around before they holster their firearm. If you train this way and do it every time when you have to do it for real you will. In the Army we called this muscle memory.
