I Used Negative Keys To Unlock A Truly Massive Door - I Wanna Lockpick

- I Wanna Lockpick Part 3 - unfortunately, these are two separate events, but the thumbnail's a cool way to combine the two ideas. I'm not going to tackle every puzzle here, but the ones I am tackling are pretty cool.

in an older video tyler said "unlocking keys with locks" he saw into the future,
negative keys= locks that u hold while negative locks= keys stuck in a wall/door
I enjoy this take on negative keys.
Idk if everyone followed how you solved the ask white keys to zero one at the end, but treating the 1-64 keys as bit integers and flipping them all to 0 was absolutely brilliant way to view that puzzle that I never would have thought of
It does sound pretty crazy, but I don't have the skillset to follow. I do have enough knowledge to understand the most basic elements of what he did.
i also did that
I have no clue how it works.
Can someone explain how does that work
@@Harumy0810 so he saw the digits 1,2,4,8,16,32,64 in the negatives… those are all some variable of 2^x meaning if you covert any of them to binary they would be 00001, 00010 etc. he then converted all the different positives (ie 79 1001111) into binary and just looked made sure before he grabbed that positive that all the negatives for the binary 100000, 000100, 000010, 000001 where all open so he could just run and flip 1001111 to be 000000 and know he will end at a total 0
Level 6-4 is really easy because it is called "Break from Madness"
And the text in the level is also just telling you how far you came, and it's time for a relaxing level.
That one ended up being the hardest in that world for me lol, took 20 minutes
6-4 literally says its point is to let you relax and realise how far you've come lol
That one took me 20 minutes lol
@@xian2themaxhow about the other levels? (It’s ok if you forgot)
You can't expect playthrough youtuber man to read the game text
@@tpfoxCastro I do expect him to read the level name though
Therapist: Negative keys arent real, they can't hurt you
Negative keys:
cursed keys
ooooh believe me you don't want to know whats coming

Welp. Rip World 5, including what is both my most hated and most favorite mechanic in the game: Brown Keys. I sort of hope aliensrock goes back just to at least introduce the mechanic, since the brown key puzzles outside of World 5 are some of my favorite in the game and skipping them all would be sort of sad.
Why'd he skip it?
i love the chonk massive door in the thumbnail, also amazing editor's note and claim of "easily" at 14:13, 10/10
Ive been watching you recently didnt know you watched tylers videos
@@Contreth1313 yeah there's some overlap in our audiences haha :p
he's a big lurker
can't wait to see mega chonk door
I guess i'm part of the overlap. I randomly got recommended a video from you and now i'm using your channel to find interesting puzzle games to play
I don't see any issues with picking random levels. Because this game is not made that linearly anyways.
And about the problem with watchability of larger, vaster and more intricate puzzles I personally find them extremely entertaining to watch. Honestly, I can watch the solutions of those types of puzzles all the way through even when they are very long. So if I'm not in the minority then I say that you don't worry about that and just continue solving the big puzzles you want to.
I'm fairly certain that since Tyler has been on youtube a long time at this point, he has lots of view data to back his concerns
@@darkdwarf007 That is True. That is why I do not disagree with his decision. His viewer base is probably not one that is interested in these specific types of puzzles since they're not Tyler's brand so it makes sense in the end.
Seing the levels on the puzzle game being skipped becaus it's technically worst for the views and watch time is kinda sad
Game keeps on getting better and better. So entertaining.
Slowly but surely
Who’s gonna tell Tyler the text on 6-4 says that it’s basically a simple level to have you reflect on how far you’ve gone
That one still took me 20 minutes lol
Tyler's commentary and gameplay combined with the editor's skill and style makes these videos some of the most entertaining playthroughs I think I've ever watched
You just single handedly showed me how useful binary is. That was mindblowing with the logic used for that.
3:21 I loved that baba is you sound effect, it is played everytime you event a puzzle and with that flower on screen it makes a perfect callback to that game
I can’t wait to see more of this game. I understand none of it but it’s still really cool watching you just work your way through it and the editor(s) really help me figure out what I’m gods name is going on.
Yeah, I don’t understand the process at all, but the entertainment comes from Tyler talking about the process (plus the editing) and it’s overall still fun to watch
Part 2 will absolutely blow his mind when/if it comes out.
Also BRUH, YOU SKIPPED OVER A WHOLE WORLD.
Thanks for recommending this game, I've been playing through it and it's super fun, and wanting to stay ahead of your videos have given me the motivation to keep playing after getting stuck on some of the levels I was struggling with.
"Easily" *pulls out pen and paper*
Editing is really great on these.
Negative keys and locks could be made of antimatter, with positive and negative keys annihilating each other if you have both types.
Or if you want something that wouldn't annihilate the player as well, the keys could be magnetic monopoles and the locks configured to only be unlockable with the correct magnetic field. Then when you have two types of keys they stick to each other, making them inseparable and unable to fit in any lock.
These edits are not only funny, but helpful, especially in the cases where Tyler does math. Great job, editors :)
if you just ask me, i like watching looong puzzles be solved
but if yt says otherwise, then that's fine with me :D
gl with the lockpicking y'all
I actually made a Rivals of Aether stage based on Doorhaven! I don't know how to do scripting (nor do any of my friends), though, so the doors in the stage will remain closed.
I honestly quite enjoy watching big puzzles, there's a constant feel of progress and unfolding and learning that you don't quite get in smaller puzzles.
P.S. Go for a high score is hands down my favorite puzzle in a video game because of how silly it is. Highest score possible is 568, imagine if the door was 512 instead hahahahaha
did I miss the episode with world 5, is that one only on the second channel, or did we just skip world 5?
i think we skipped
Love how this series is still going even with the possible copyright strikes.
I think they'll be fine; at this point all of the music has been replaced!
Imagine not finding negative keys
Imaginary keys are in a later world, I think.
@@DavidGuild dammit, I was gonna comment imagine not finding sqrt-1 keys
@@DavidGuild I know you're probably joking but at this point I probably wouldn't be surprised
Imaging going home, accidentally picking a negative key and now having no keys.
New favorite series, hoping this will have meta aspects like baba
Spoilers: It will, but in part 2
Tyler, if you want harder puzzles with fewer elements i think you’d love a game called recursed 😊
I got very similar vibes from recursed while playing this game
I want to love Recursed, but the lack of a simple "undo" really breaks with me. I've beaten it, but it's just sooo frustrating when you accidentally throw something or fall down something and you have to redo the entire level. That being said, I don't know and don't remember how much of the stuff I've played is part of the basegame, which part is DLC and which part is user-made mod/custom. It's certainly possible that I had no problem with the basegame and my bad experience has been in relation to custom stuff.
Nonetheless, yes, this game is great, but you really do need to memorize the puzzle's layout. Non-onescreen-puzzles always have this problem though.
i like to imagine the negative keys are just slips of paper saying “you now owe us ____ more keys”
Imagine a editor more in this game 💀
Puzzles would need for you to solve the hardest formula to win
The sprite with Tyler's face slapped over it is a creature from some nightmare game. Somebody's gonna make that
if you think about it, negative keys are just doors that don't check to see if you actually have enough keys to open them before removing those keys
no, negative doors increase your key count
@@MichaelDarrow-tr1mn he said negative *keys*.
@@BeaDSM negative keys aren't doors either
I enjoy watching you speedrun a puzzle and not understanding how
Puzzles being solved in fast forward speed and then Tyler saying "well that was fun" isn't fun to watch. It's nice that he had fun playing it, but I would have liked to go along and solve it with him. Isn't that the point of such puzzle game videos?
my brain confuse watching this trying to math myself. im amazed at you
the use of binary to solve a puzzle was pretty clever
I dont think i'll be able to apply binary to puzzles anytime soon
Okay, this video introduced negative keys so now I'm just waiting for the one that will introduce imaginary keys!
Thank you Tyler for being in key debt
6:08 "instead of adding elegance they just add more things"
You'll surely enjoy the Finale, Tyler.
This world just isn’t the same without the amazing music
I don't even know how negative keys would even work in real life scenarios?
9:15 me knowing the future: hahaha!
With how Tyler feels about large puzzles with lots of already used elements... I'm curious how he's gonna feel about that one world with only one level haha.
Just noticed the sound for entering a level is the same as baba Is you
Every single one of my brain cells died seeing the puzzles
finally
opening keys with doors (kinda)
the level enter sound in this game reminds me of the level enter sound in baba is you
We’ve been watching devil’s calculator all this time 14:47
indeed
Slick puzzle solving gloves
editors note killed me nice
I could never do the math for this game
7-A is a very interesting puzzle. I've gotten as high as 568 purple/-226 cyan(before the 256 door of course), not sure how to get further than that though.
Another funny number is 514/-312 which is a single move order difference from 568.
This game is a sequel to Keypick 100, a simpler, less cluttered game and in my opinion more fun.
World 6 before 5? What a rebel.
I thought i was good at math..... then i watched this video and i have no idea whats happening props to tyler for beating all of these levels
Last video
“They couldn’t possibly add negative keys. The doors subtract keys”
This video
“Negative keys are real”
God bless the editor(s)
Tyler, you missed the first 6 world's finale level(the one that only has mechanics from the first 6 worlds) which is to the left of the starting area, in the wall where the keys are floating out of.
Why did you swap the music of the Garden world of the negative keys? It's not copyrighted + I really love that music...
1:00 In debt to the (((Key bank)))
This game melts my brain and i love it
i feel like i remember the last 30 seconds by him somewhere but idk where
Nice upload on time
Since you kind of asked at the end, I do mind you skipping lots of the puzzles. Like...I want you to have fun and play the way you want to play, but it's quite unsatisfying as a viewer to have you skip puzzles. Especially as lots of the later puzzles call back to earlier ones and if you're only doing c.65% of the puzzles in a given world you'll almost certainly have skipped some of the callback ones, which then makes the later ones less cool.
yes I knew this would be the next mechanic
Can someone explain the bit solution at the end?
The tool tip hovers AND that sound effect for completing AND I the font is this the maker of scrribblenughts?
this game makes my brain hurt and I'm just watching it
Casually does binary to hack the doors.
my winning run on 7-a got me all the way up to 332
debt to the key gods
I wonder if negative GOLD keys builds doors of your choosing ;-P
You should try the game Atrio for the future- its pretty nice!
You should try Dungeon of the endless. I think it would really fit with your channel.
9:55 TYLER WHAT ARE THOSE GAMER GLOVES EXPLAIN YOURSELF
6:08 "instead of adding elegance they just add more things" Tyler seens to not be enjoying so much the dificulty aspects of the game... wonder if he will change his opinion
No, he's completely right. Adding more stuff is just adding artificial difficulty for the sake of it without making the puzzle solution path any more interesting. What he wants is a more complex solution to a simple-looking puzzle, not a more complex puzzle with a simple solution. Increasing the number of elements without adding anything new just isn't going to be that interesting, it just takes more time to actually beat the level.
Many games suffer from this. Instead of extending a given concept more and more, they just add more of the same with increasing amount of things when the game could've been way better (albeit shorter) by just focusing on what makes it actually fun.
Similar situation:
See Tyler's Taiji playthrough as an example.
The gravestone area (which he really didn't like that much) had an idea, played around with it and then quickly ended, when the creator realized there isn't much more to do with that idea. They could've added like a 100 more of the binary puzzles but that wouldn't have made it any better or more interesting, just longer. Each puzzle in there minus the tutorial uses a single unique trick and after that the are is done.
Or imagine a Sudoku book with 1000 puzzles in it.
"Adding more things" in this case would be to make the Sudoku grids bigger and bigger (to add more cells and numbers), so you start with the classic 9x9 grind and the last page features let's say a 49x49 grid. This 49x49 is not going to be any more interesting to solve than a 9x9, it just takes way longer to do.
Instead you could have 1000 9x9 Sudokus with different variants which also feature unique logic. THAT is interesting to solve (and possible, see the Cracking The Cryptic CZcams channel), although it may look like everything has the same difficulty (it won't).
Jfc next up is going to be the multiplicative keys and at that point you're just literally doing algebra.
Man really just said that something is easily solved by writing it down in binary
In minute 15:00 you could pick up then -64 then the -12 then the -1 and get the star key and you will figure out the rest
I swear I heard the Baba Is You level select sound when he entered the 2nd level. Is that just a sound from some site like opengameart or is it an edit on his part?
I think the game stole some (or all) of its sounds. There was a whole thing about the music being copyright claimed. I didn't really follow that but it does seem like they ripped off the Baba sound.
The game uses that sound on purpose. It's free and technically part of the "iwbtg fangame" genre. Those games use 99% sounds and music from other games.
This game needs custom levels
I'd just enjoy all levels being done myself.
another vid makes me happy😆😆😆
Hey didn't you say you weren't going to post more of this?
I only just realized, but where did World 5 go? Episode 2 ends at World 4 and this, episode 3 starts at World 6. I've seen other people play it and it's pretty neat. Did you just forget to record it? Or did you not think it was interesting enough to put on CZcams? Or is there a secret Episode 2.5 I haven't seen?
I know im not sure
where the heck did the haunted attic go
Nice detail that the girl is frowning instead of smiling when she has a negative keycount
Edit: No, I think she's actually slowly getting angrier with each world
but she's always frowning. don't trust tyler's thumbails
What happened to world five? Last video ended on world four
Double the keys and give it to the next person
I don't mind you skipping a couple levels. I'm fine with whatever it takes for you to not end the series early
i'm fine with you picking and choosing right now, but after you get to the end of the demo, I _would_ like to see you at least attempt the levels you skipped
Rip World 5
what happened to world 5?
I found this video now fun to watch from you removing you boring levels so please continue doing that
Why did you skip world 5?
Didn’t like it. Found it just as boring as world 4, for the exact same reasons too.
@@Aliensrock you should at least introduce the gimick
how do i get it

for me it start losing sharm when it goes to numbers. I love logic and puzzles, but math is different kinda.
