Thanks for the video! I have a World Population 🗺 Test tomorrow... Edit: at 8:55 I got a commercial for dry skin moisturizers, and in the video you said "more people are dealing with..." and it cut to the commercial that said "dry skin." So apparently dry skin is a big population issue now 😂
I don't know what age group this is targeted towards, but my sister is a freshman in high school learning this. Your videos are so helpful and even I'm learning a lot. Thank you, Mr. Sinn 🙏
Is stage 5 of the Demographic Transition and the Epidemiologic Transition here or yet to come? In textbooks such as Rubenstein, there is information about the possibility of a stage 5. However, given the emergence of COVID-19 and its parallels to infectious diseases evolving and diffusing through globalization, do you think stage 5 has arrived?
Stage five for the two models are different. Stage 5 of the demographic transition model is new, it is not going to be in most textbooks and was not part of the original model. But we are starting to see it occur in places like Russia, Germany, and Japan. (Note: Some people just merge stage 5 and 4 together) COVID-19 on the other hand could be an example of a stage 5 disease, it is an infectious disease that has spread through globalization, impacts communities with less wealth at a higher rate due to living conditions, and spreads through urban areas faster due to the amount of people living in one geographic location
For the first question in the practice questions, I thought the NIR was still increasing during stage 3, but the question said it was decreasing and your answer said it was stage 3. Could someone help explain?

Question 6: Stage 2
wouldn't question 1 be stage 4, as it says their NIR is declining, but in stage 3 the NIR is still increasing?
Edit: nvm I see how it’s stage 3
@@KOAla-fo7bv yeah I put stage 4 too... I wish he would explain why the answers are the answers
Why in the 5th stage of the ETM there is increased poverty
@@adaleighw.8231 Do you still need help on it? I think I figured it out
@@KOAla-fo7bv yeah, how is it stage 3 i thought would be 4 or 5 because the NIR starts to increase but stops after those stages.

For the first question in the practice questions, I thought the NIR was still increasing during stage 3, but the question said it was decreasing and your answer said it was stage 3. Could someone help explain?
The NIR is the natural RATE of increase, so even though the rate is decreasing, the population is still growing, but more slowly. Hope that helps!
Thanks this helps
thanks mom
Should students no longer describe stage 5 as hypothetical?
