Collecting My Ford GT in NEW YORK!

- This is by far the craziest and most exciting thing I've ever done, my Ford GT is now in New York! Upon touchdown at JFK, it's straight to the cargo terminal to collect my car following its own 3,500 mile flight, to get started my adventure in the USA with some sightseeing around Manhattan!
A few days after loading the car onto a pallet in Amsterdam, you join me now at JFK after my own passenger flight, to go pick it up. My friend @speedracer38 reversed things as an American driving a British car in the form of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage to give me a lift over to the cargo terminal where we pass the very 747 that brought the car over.
It makes sense, but it also makes absolutely no sense, having my own car that I know from home in the UK and the trips it has done to the Nurburgring, Amsterdam Motorshow, Sardinia for the Pagani Raduno and more, yet here it is on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. With the customs paperwork all pre-approved and the documents/insurance all in place, the car is ready to be driven on my UK number plate into New York City itself. With horrendous traffic jams hindering progress, we head via Battery Park (Statue of Liberty and Freedom Tower), Central Park and Plaza Hotel, and of course the iconic Times Square by nightfall, illuminated in style!
When the Shmee150 CZcams channel started, many of the early videos were filming cars from other locations that had been flown into London; never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that one day I'd be flying my own supercar to another continent but here we are, and it's just the start of this journey. It's a huge thanks to you all for your support up to this point, but I hope the videos are only going to get even better from here!

For the first part of my entire trip, it's over to the cargo warehouse to collect the car on American soil to head into New York City for some sight seeing. Best to drive it on a weekend. Early Saturday more and all day Sunday here in NYC. Although as a New Yorker best to avoid the bronx as roads here even on highways suck for supercars

Shmee check out TopGearPorsche in North Jersey. About 20min away from NYC they have one of the craziest storage of Porsches new/old, hypercard, etc.

I wonder how many time Shmee will get pulled over in the us because of the British number plate
As I mentioned in a previous video, my cousin brought his Phantom V to New York City with British plates on the car. He drove it around town for several years without any trouble as far as I remember. Let us hope that Shmee has the same good fortune.
If he drives to Staten Island he will 100% get pulled over. speaking as a native staten islander there is a ridiculous number of police on every block and they look for any reason to pull you over lol
A real bisexual petrol-head No, we get jealous because those plates are hella sick. To cops though, it's more of a curiosity thing. You gotta validate that it's legal plates because some people like to throw on european plates illegally for the look of the vehicle.
I'm wondering why Shmee hasn't put an oval GB sticker on the car? I thought it was a legal requirement to have the ISO Recognised National Identification symbol (GB on white oval) whenever driving in a foreign country? The only exception being the Euro Zone where you can have a Euro-plate with the blue Euro symbol on. As Shmee doesn't have those plates on any of his cars, even in Europe, he should have the white oval GB sticker on instead.
How he gets away without it I don't know!

I really appreciate the fact that Shmee is a car-vlogger, whose videos are not just way to show off his brand new cars and flex about how much they cost, like someone whos name I can't tell, but It ends with "alomondrin". When I watch Shmee's videos I can see that he is thankful for the opportunity to drive those very big and powerful toys, and that he takes great pleasure in driving then, as they were designed to. I'm jealous that I am not the one driving cars like this, but it doesn't tilts me as much as watching someone buying those cars and just flexing, while all they do is burn rubber whole day, destroy clutch, and drive 40 mph because they are afraid to take those cars to track or,like in this example,for a great roadtrip. Thanks Shmee! Very Cool!

Please, if you're not passing, and don't have a reason to be in the left lanes, stay as far to the right as possible.
I’m sorry but you’re absolutely wrong. When driving in New York City, you should be driving kind of aggressively. I’m not saying to drive fast and crazy. I’m saying you need to keep up with traffic and be very aware of other driver’s maneuvers. People that drive all the way in the right lane are usually afraid of driving and have absolutely no driving skills. Many get into accidents because they have no decision making skills and don’t know what to do in a situation where they have to make an on the spot decision. Sorry to say but you sound like one of those no skill having drivers. You’re probably one of those people that cause major traffic jams because you’re driving super duper slow and not having any consideration for those that are actually trying to drive correctly and keeping up with traffic.

My comment clearly referred to what I saw at 8:48. Does that look like Shmee's keeping up with traffic?
Speeding tickets in Oregon start at 10 miles per hour over the posted limit. That sets the typical speed on our freeways. A driver who wants to exceed that speed is unlikely to find somebody camping out in the left lane preventing them from doing so. A driver who wants to go faster than the slowest drivers is unlikely to need to pass someone on the right.
