@@dillypop1999 I used to have nightmares all the time as a kid. Til now I don't ever fall asleep into the rem sleep that's needed for dreaming. But still the few nights a year that I do recall the dreams, they're still nightmares... "No rest for the wicked" as they say lol

I have struggled with depression not developed but biological but if I a fat kid who can’t do much can make it through then others can but if there is one piece of advise I can give is don’t hide it the longer you hide it the more it builds until your personal day of judgment and finally bring the knife to your neck if you have let it build it becomes almost impossible to stop yourself so when you get to that point remember that someone wants you around and If you’re not there you could send another person into their own depression telling themselves they weren’t enough to keep you here so if you won’t keep going for yourself do it for other people. Now I know people won’t see this but if you do spread the message that someone needs you and you will soon find something to stay in this world for

My grandma told me this when I was a child, innocent and not understanding the depths of her words. Today they are what keep me breathing and believing, so I hope they can also guide you through some of your pain.

I committed suicide almost two years ago I was in hospital 4 months n was told I wouldn't be able to move ever again, I lost all my friends except one besides family he was to show up at my bedside, thank you Gilbert Gracia you are my family , love you brother , God kept me here for some reason not quite sure what for but I'm getting my strength back and am able to walk n move my arms now better than ever , only God can say when it's over so if ur contimplating suicide it's really not up to u when God calls u it's up to him , God bless all the people going through it right now , and let's all try to be there for one another the world is already hard enough let's lend a hand n ear to those struggling, no one is better than the next we all go thru things, I love everyone n hope n pray God saves us all in Jesus name amen!!!

That's actually how I'm feeling right now. For the last few days I've been thinking about suicide because of how worthless I feel. I seen messages between my so called boyfriend and another female talking how they love each other and things that you would say to someone that you're in a relationship. I confronted him about it and he denied everything and said he was hacked.

This quote "Would anyone notice If tonight, I disappeared?" really hit hard - I've always thought that no one would. So many people don't realize the huge battles I am fighting in my head, yet I am projecting a look that makes them think otherwise. They think my being distant has to do with them and think I'm an a-hole for it. I am constantly fighting these battles on my own and this kind of music is what helps me the most. I hear this and realize I am NOT alone.....we all struggle, just some better than others. If you are thinking of ending it, don't.....that's NOT the answer. That will only pass your pain onto someone who truly loves you, even if you think they don't. I admit it has crossed my mind before, but I cannot ever bring myself to that point....I may think life is hard right now, but I realize if I were to make that choice, tomorrow would probably be the day that everything found a way to get better. Why miss that, even if it doesn't happen right away. There is constantly a little voice in my head saying 'it will get better' and sometimes I tell it to STFU, but I haven't rejected it and I think that's a good thing. I'm taking each day as it comes....some are good some aren't, but I am doing what I feel is the right thing

I discovered their song "This is Your Sign" via a google search when I was very close to suicide one night. It was probably the only thing that saved me that night.
It’s been an on going battle for years, and I’ve always struggled. The pain of feeling like no one understands the hell in your head, feeling as if you are alone. I never realized how numb I truly was until I listened to this song. I listened to this song carefully and finally felt like someone understood. I cried numerous times, such a beautiful song that holds a special place in my heart.
I almost took my life many times and still think about it, not thinking would care or notice I was gone. It wasn’t till I saw others struggle and hurting that I realized that I’m not alone, and while I still struggle I’ve now dedicated my life to help others so they never have to go through the pain of what I have to everyday.
“Let me give you a reason to stay” such a powerful statement, and such an inspiration.

People ask why I love "sad" songs, to me they aren't sad songs. They're songs that allow me to release my pent up emotions in a controllable manner and instead of exploding into a flood these songs allow me to let these emotions flow through my body like a river. In my opinion no song is ever "sad", they are always inspirational or soothing. Whether it may seem sad to me but it may seem comforting to the next person, that is why I love songs like this one, no song is ever too sad for one person.

We all deal with struggles and our own battles, but I wish for everyone to remember a war is never won alone, please remind yourselves you are never truly alone. Mental health is a serious issue, suicide may seem like the right answer when your vision and thoughts are clouded, but that is only because mentally you are clouded and the path is blurred, and I wish more people/studies spread this reality that it is HARD to see the proper pathway when blinded. Never bottle yourselves up for other peoples sake, Never allow yourselves to be chained down by the demons, Never forget that someone else somewhere in the globe is fighting a similar battle, and Never forget that a war is won together. Stay strong everyone, and Never let the light fade from your hearts.

I feel that, for the longest time I could only see the bad in the world. I shut myself in and kept telling myself that the outside world isn't worth my time. To this day I still feel that way because I don't know how to feel any other way. You know how bad it is when all you can think is 'I hate' you have nothing to direct your anger at, its just everything, you feel this uncontrollable anger at the entire world, and then once it leaves you, you feel cold. You feel as if the world isn't worth living in. I would know, because that's happening. my anger has left me, and now all I feel is the freezing cold.

I feel this, when I had my worst spout of depression I often used five finger fillet as my "self harm" because of the adrenalin rushes and the pain that was so sudden and "unexpected"

When a song knows you better than your family.
This song was on repeat for nights on end these last couple of months. So thankful for God giving me strength to keep fighting. For all you out there wondering if it could be worth it, I promise it can be. Something called men's encounter really helped me as well. Would recommend it to everyone.

I am crying. I’ve felt like this for so long. Almost my whole 50 years of existence. My boyfriend told me about Citizens Soldier 30 minutes ago. This is the first song I listened to. I’ve always put everyone else first. I’ve never really lived for myself. I’ve lost a lot in the past 13 plus years. I’m hanging on by a thread as it is. But this song made grip that thread a little tighter. You have a new fan just from this one song. Every day I will look for a reason, even the tiniest reason, to keep going. Thank you for seeing us and acknowledging what we all may be going through. We may be strangers but it’s good to know we are not alone.
Keep holding on to God. No matter what may be trying to keep you down, keep looking up to God. He will always be your hand in helping you get back up. The reason why Jesus tells us not to be anxious is because the Father cares for us. He has your back and will help you through anything, All you have to do is have Faith. God wants us to change and grow into the person He wants us to be. All things are possible with God. difficult times can leave us feeling exposed and unprotected but it is only Temporary. everything is temporary and that nothing lasts forever. This includes both the good and the bad times because it will eventually end. Ultimately, the enemies we face, are not people or objects. It is not our body, It is not physical enemy. our battle is indeed spiritual, In each of those cases, we can choose to fight the wrong battles, or we can rest knowing God is fighting for us. We fight this war by daily putting on the whole armor of God, always praying, standing firm in the Word of God, and staying alert. We need to live each day guided by an eternal perspective. We get swamped by temporal concerns. So rest in knowing that when you keep holding on, you will see that in your weakness, God will be your strength.

I know I'll sound harsh but you can't blame people for not noticing when you're the one who chooses to wear the mask, you have to take control of the situation yourself, even if it's hard. Healing starts with yourself. People already have enough to get through with everyday... You're not alone but help others helping you.

I remember listening to this song bawling my eyes out 3 years ago. And even today,all those emotions that I felt back then, flows back as I listen to this song again . Thank you for this song ❤. This song really helped me go through some really tough times ❤❤
As someone who attempted suicide 3 years ago and survived, I personally think this is the best song ever written on suicide prevention, because it does something unique, it's final lyrics can be interpreted in 2 different ways.
Other songs like _"Why?"_ (Rascal Flatts) or _"How to save a life"_ (The Fray) focus mainly on the way your own suicide would make *_others_* feel in hopes that knowing so will stop you from doing it in the future. And that approach is good, and effective, after all, some people are desperate to be reminded how much their loved ones would miss them, like the lyrics in this song express. And in fact I think the lyrics of this song can also be interpreted this way (more on that later).
However, I think the final lyrics can also be interpreted in another way, as in saying: *It shouldn't matter how others would feel! What matters is that you're unique, and that's an undeniable fact, even if no one can see it.*
Notice how the lyrics don't change the question format after the bridge when talking about how others would feel: _"Would anyone care? Would anyone cry?"_
But when talking about the change your death would bring to the world, the lyrics drop the question format, the lyrics are now stating themselves as a fact (because well, from this point on, they indeed ARE a fact): _"The world would be changed! If you left it behind, you can't be replaced no! Tonight is the night you take back your life!"_
Sure, the latter lyrics can also be interpreted as a response to the questions made by the former lyrics as in: *Would anyone care? Of course they would, you are unique.* But that makes it even more brilliant! It reminds the listener that he probably has someone who would indeed miss him, but at the same time it *empowers* him by reminding him that self-worth can come from within and that he does NOT need anyone else to see his worth, because he is a unique individual, and that's an undeniable fact!

This song gave me more comfort than anyone ever has. I have been struggling for a long time now and I really needed something like this. For everyone else who's struggling I love you. It's so hard when I'm alone. All of the time. My kids have grown and started their own lives. I fight with MS, PTSD, Agoraphobia, and depression because of all the above. I haven't felt the touch from a significant other in almost 7 years. To be held, to feel wanted again, would mean the world. But that isn't happening any time soon. Love the song, it hit hard.

One day, I woke up in the middle of the night, as I usually do. I went to the medicine cabinet and opened the bottle. I can't remember what it was, but for some reason, I just put it back and went back to bed. I almost gave up that night, but today, years later, I have completed my therapy, have a job, amazing friends, and hobbies that give me great joy. I have dreams bursting from the seams because that night, I decided not to take those meds. That night, I held on.

Praise God despite the roadblock you are facing. The reason why Jesus tells us not to be anxious is because the Father cares for us. He has your back and will help you through anything, All you have to do is have Faith. Ultimately, the enemies we face, are not people or objects. I hate seeing anyone get to the depth I've been in. I've been through enough tried killing myself enough and I'm not even 30, im pretty alone but struggle through it all to push on to help others but I'm soo tired, I just want my 1 to finally shine a path for me.

Mate, i know that place all to well and I’ve been there to many times to count, and no matter how many times you put the knife away it doesn’t get easier. But sometimes you just have to push yourself in any way you can, and I know how hard it is to keep your head above water but I promise it gets easier, it gets better when you pour it out into the universe, whether it’s to your pet, your friends, your teacher, God, parents anyone, get it out. Keeping it all in is a slow poison in your bloodstream, you may not realize it’s there at first but it will make your days harder and harder. Just know that where ever who ever you are you have a brother here that loves you and want’s you to fight another day, follow that light at the end of the tunnel, I know it seems hard now I promise you the work is worth it.

I've been listening this song for years, not because I feel that way, I'm just vibing to the masterpiece
When I was sixteen I found my best friend dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound. It changed my life forever. I've suffered ptsd, extreme depression, and cripple anxiety. Also have been severely socially damaged because of said instance. I simply don't let people close to me..I recently got out of an incredibly abusive marriage and these past few months have been a serious low point.
It all boiled over last week when I planned on taking my own life. I knew exactly how I was going to do it, and was in the process of writing my goodbyes to my loved ones, when this song randomly played on some sad boy playlist I had running. I listened to it all the way through and by the end was a blubbering mess. I was really gonna put my loved ones through the same trauma that has tormented me throughout my entire adult life. When he talks about how "the world would be changed" those words run deeper than they appear on the surface. The world as a whole may not change. But somebody's definitely will. Hell I don't even know why I typed this out honestly. Not sure if it will even be seen..just wanted to say that this song holds tremendous power..

I went through losing my bestfriend when i was 16 aswell, he died of a bloodclot stopping his heart. I suffer from ptsd, manic depression and bad anxiety. Ive been in an abusive relationship and was with someone that was there for me through thick and thin. Just recently she walked out on me and i thought about suicide. Writing a note out to my daughter. It's hard being strong but im getting very close to completely breaking down

Remember that as much as your best friend dying hurt you, it'll be ten times the pain for your daughter, as you had done it to yourself, and you're her family. Please stay strong, and don't be afraid to ask for help. Remember that many people, a shocking amount, really, have gone through something similar, and that many have made it through it. Tell your loved ones if your having suicidal thoughts, at the very least, and maybe read the stories of suicide survivors, and take hope that like them, you'll be ok. It may take a while, but in the end you'll make it out. And also, the world would be a much darker place without you, at least for your friends and family, in fact most everybody who knows you. Take hope that things will turn out ok, and be strong, but it's ok to not be strong all the time, it's ok to cry to any loved ones, and even if they don't fully understand, they will try to help. And if they don't, then remember that they are the problem, THEY are the bad people, and try to cut them out of your life. It doesn't help to see toxic people, and will only make things worse. Surround yourself with people who will do your best to help.
I often bounce between being perfectly fine to quietly wishing I didn't exist. Songs like this go a long way in keeping me around and alive. Thank you for your fantastic music.

As I sit here listening to this beautiful masterpiece of a song.. I cry my eyes out this fight going on inside my head is getting extremely hard to fight but I'm truly fighting it... Everything you speak about in this song specifically is what I'm feeling!! I hate the holidays cause I fuckin miss my grandma and all the people I've lost and i feel all alone in life and I'm with my mom...
This song saved my life, it helped me get therapy. Thank you for sharing your story in these songs. I connected with so many of them and they really helped me to learn that maybe I'm not worthless.

The traits such as worthless in this song are things that echo in my head when dealing with my depression as ways to describe myself and I truly wonder if those who are close to me see me as a burden so for me this song resonates with me. It’s been almost a seven year battle for me and the biggest thing that saved me is having friends who have similar battles they deal with daily and I’m not going to lie at times I still wonder is it still worth fighting for? I hope my words can inspire others to continue holding on.

We Are All Human Love Is Love One of the reasons I like songs like this is because often I lack the words to properly convey my point and my emotions to others such songs are a form expression and copping. I’m wondering if you’re the same in that regard?

The thing I love most about this song is how it doesn't talk about how you committing suicide would affect others, it talks about how you shouldn't care what others think but only care about how much you love yourself, how unique you are, how you are like a snowflake, your that one person out of 7 billion. Your that one unique person. No one is like you and that should be reason enough for you to live.

Yeah, I'm unique. Doesn't mean worth preserving. There is nothing out there for me to look forward to. The therapist has run out of answers. I do not trust my parents, nor do I really respect them that much anymore after spending a year with them and getting a long look. I'm only holding my sister back by hoovering up resources.
When a dog is blind, deaf, and facing kidney failure, do we try to extend its life at all costs? Or extend mercy and put it down? Animals know when their time is up. Yet when a human accepts that there is no life left to live and that they are permanently damaged or defective beyond all accommodation or repair, people insist we aren't supposed to find peace. If I had a spine, I'd walk out into the cold to die.

I got this artist recommended by a friend, it is exactly what I needed. We all go trough things, and everyone go trough them a different way. But we can all help eachother. Everyone is unique in their own way. We love you, Never let people say it's not.

I played a lot of Call of Duty zombies in my spare time. And one of the characters said. "It's all a game isn't it? A big twisted fucked up game!!" That resonates with me to this day and it's been like 6 years.

Keep holding on to God. No matter what may be trying to keep you down, keep looking up to God. He will always be your hand in helping you get back up. difficult times can leave us feeling exposed and unprotected but it is only temporary. everything is temporary and that nothing lasts forever. When we only see one solution to our problem, When we only see one way out of our struggle, we need to pray to God to help us to shift our focus toward Him and His infinite wisdom. we serve God who can do all things. Have an Honest confession. Tell God how you’re feeling and what your hang-ups are, He often answers in ways we can’t comprehend. for the Lord will give you understanding in everything. God won’t leave us stuck when we come to Him with an honest plea for guidance. He longs to be our Guide. and when we come to Him, He will show us a path we’ve never seen before, overflowing with hope and opportunity. always Call for God to open your eyes to the truth. Praise God despite the roadblock you are facing. The reason why Jesus tells us not to be anxious is because the Father cares for us. He has your back and will help you through anything, All you have to do is have Faith. Ultimately, the enemies we face, are not people or objects. It is not our body, It is not physical enemy. our battle is indeed spiritual, In each of those cases, we can choose to fight the wrong battles, or we can rest knowing God is fighting for us. we fight this war by daily putting on the whole armor of God, always praying, standing firm in the Word of God, and staying alert. we need to live each day guided by an eternal perspective. so rest in knowing that when you keep holding on, you will see that in your weakness, God will be your strength.

I faced dark times, especially in the last few years. Songs like this helped me express myself and find value in who I am as-is. Thanks for keeping me here.
It's easy for people to say "you need a therapist". No, what I need is a real friend. It's sad when the only friends you can count on are the ones you made up in your head to cope in a world that you feel you have no place in.
So sorry to hear you’re feeling that friend. A lot of this in this community have felt the same. We need to be there for eachother.
If the issue is just that you are alone, yes. But, therapy is so important. Therapists are literally trained in positive coping, they are a neutral party who are legally obligated to not share your shit (but are required to make sure you cannot hurt yourself or others), and they can talk you through things and untangle the ball of knots in your head. Friends are amazing and help in their own ways, and they are supportive and helpful and will do what they can to help you, but please remember that they are not responsible for making you better, and they have their own shit to deal with sometimes, too.
My point is, you shouldn't have to pay someone to give a shit whether or not you exist.
