In norway we are readying the snow equipmet and here you are teddering grass on your 3rd cut. We only got 2 (1 quz one wanted to "let it grow some more" but hey)

Might be wrong but I have seen guards on them wheel bars before presume they stop the grass wrapping but not sure !?

What are the chances the hay is too wet? It looks clumpy when it leaves the tines & seems to mat down right away. That would sure cause wrap around.

This is silage not hay. Its 4th cut so the grass is somewhat different to deal with than in the summer months. It's only about 8 inches in length and not much bulk so will look like it mat down

I wish you would explain the what a tedder is for...

Sorry about that. What the tedder does is spread the grass out after the mowers and leaves it spread over a wide area disturbing any wet grass so that it can dry out

Tedder size/rotor number doesn't match mower. Also can you option deflectors for the wheels? I find although not perfect do a fair job at stopping wrapping.

I reckon your right, should have been 6 rotor. A thought the salesman was supposed to find out what mowers you had to match the Tedder up🤔🤷‍♂️. Wonder if it’s wrapping (at least on the 3rd rotors) coz it’s not gathering it’s own grass up, making its own curtain of grass🤷‍♂️. Least it works… unlike mine 🤣🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️😭

We where advised by the rep that 8 rota was better so the extra 2 rotas would make it easier on the tines and prevent tines breaking. It's fine if you spread a second time, but no good following straight behind mower

@@GEOFFKV6080 I was told to also go for an 8 Rotor as it does a better job of pulling the grass apart and makes for less 'lumping' of the grass. What size mower width cut that crop? I'm slightly worried now as we've just put our name down on a new 8.81 Pottinger and I don't fancy jumping out the cab every 10 mins to unwrap grass from the wheel axle legs!

@@John-The-Farmer the mowers are both 10ft cut

@@GEOFFKV6080 Thanks, much appreciated.. only just seen your reply. Did you try fitting the Optional Extra anti wrap guards in the end? I'm considering ordering them.

Those wheels need a deflector plate over the bar maybe an old plastic bottle cable tied might stop the wrapping. Wet grass is a pain for sticking 🥺
