I too choose sleep. Staying up is miserable and you'll end up with basically no chance of survival. You'll be weak and exhausted and if you manage to survive your body is gonna shut down due to lack of sleep (it's not made for that) and you'll probably pass away anyways. :[

Omg, I already love this!) For some reason, the idea of a gas that invigorates and drives crazy is even more creepy for me than a soporific gas.

it's fucking SCARY to imagine wanting to rest after a while but you can't. by the drug gas's effects, you can stand still not even for one second as the drug forces you to move at all times to be able to stay awake, your eyes being forced to stay open, drying second by second, causing irresistible pain and stress until the drug wears off.
it's even weirder the fact that the critters wanted this to happen. it's unhealthy to not get sleep for long periods of time (max. 7 days/1 week because yall work like a phone but once that battery reaches under 0% yall can't charge it again). crafty knew she can't keep her eyes open.
if they weren't affected by the drug gas, they'd pass out at any second from the loss of sleep, which would somehow help them because they get the rest they needed, their body shuts down automatically. the drug gas doesn't allow that, it basically takes control of your body and you can't do anything to help it, heck, you can't even control yourself, only your thoughts and (possibly) what you say. dogday is basically KILLING them slowly by using his drug gas on them.
in conclusion catnap, aside from the fact that he gave them nightmares, he helps his friends with the medical status of their physical body, dogday wouldn't

I’m an early riser and late sleeper, (late as in around 11pm - 12am and wake up around 6-7am) so seeing DogDay just make everyone get up for the day while I’m already awake just seems so funny if this was real and I was in it.
The captions are helpful (I thought the laughing was a bug when they weren’t in catnaps house anymore) and that they’re outside (probably.) with him sitting in the ruined house.
I honestly probably would just chill with him even if he acted like that,a person with no emotions to be seen in their face. But deep down, he probably also has a reason like catnap did…. Right? I might drag himself or the others outside early to prevent DogDay coming to wake them up so they don’t go delulu.
I wouldn’t really need the gas to make me stay up (since I do unless I take a nap which is rarely.) so he doesn’t need to use it on me.
YEEEEESS SOMEONE DID THIS, I'M GOING TO CRY RN BRO
I love the difference in character hearing catnap speak is cool!! The voice is close to my expectation of his voice before it “broke/stopped functioning” I love the difference in catnap and dogday, dogday in the original was optimistic and upbeat to try and encourage his friends and help them get rest and peace of mind and most importantly to relax, while on this catnap try’s to somewhat lighten up the mood but..he kinda fails he himself lacks the capacity to handle others when he himself can’t manage. You can obviously tell he’s trying but still he’s failing as you see when he sighs at that one scene he frowns and goes quiet before dogday comes in the sigh in my opinion indicates defeat and well weakness he’s drained and so are the others he wants to help but we’ll he’s not in any state to do so. The difference I spotted most was the reaction and well behavioral response dogday being optimistic and upbeat and a light on others while catnap is somewhat positive here but mostly you can see the effort to keep out of negativity but yea this is amazing this au is wonderful I love yhe difference tbh this is 10 times for inhuman and cruel then the original forced drugs to specifically stay awake is harsh and EXTREMELY draining, lucid nightmares is not in any way better tho it’s also cruel and harsh but you kinda get rest so yea this is cool it’s very interesting and accurate it’s different from most other things I’ve seen it’s special in its own little specific way but yea good work 👍🏻 (sorry I’m ranting)

But instead being hanged like canon Dogday, he'll just simply chained in some outdoor place, kneeling with both arms and legs chained and muted (Dogday damaging Catnap's mouth). He'll only use ASL to communicate and he'll died between, dehydration/starvation, mini plushie, or sunstroke
