In Texas, the police and private security firms assist the store owner in security protection which includes installation of automatic locking doors. Once flash robbery starts, doors get locked. Nobody leaves until police arrive and arrests are made. I just saw a video of a jewelry store that locked the crooks in. They couldn’t get out.

I lived in Pasadena in the 70s and the neighborhoods in NW part of town were rough, but the city itself was gracious and beautiful. I hate to see this happening there.
Pasadena isn't what it used to be. My buddy's son just got called a cracker & a white boy by a black basketball coach at a Pasadena school. His daughter was jumped by 3 black girls for being white a few months ago as well. Car thefts & catalytic converter thefts have been up for a few years. There's a bad BLM element that's grown in Pasadena over the years. In general crime is rampant everywhere. Even in remote places like Calabasas stuff is happening.

Unbreakable bullet proof glass is available. But that only leads me to the thought of the robbers using a gun to the proprietor and tell him to open up the cases which is even more dangerous for him. If the proprietor had seen the robbers they would have killed him.

There was a smash and grab at a jewelry store in Beverly Hills where 8 to 9 million dollars worth of jewelry were stolen. If they can afford that kind of jewelry sitting around display cases then they can afford bullet proof thick glass that can't be easily shattered.
My uncle lives in Los Altos and a $250,000 smash and grab at a jewelry store there.
