Robert Schramm is a board-certified behavioral analyst and the creator of Just 7 Steps of Instructional Control. Through his transformative work, Robert was able to translate behavioral analysis principles into language that parents can understand. Robert’s 7 steps help parents of all backgrounds make great progress with their kids regardless of diagnosis, while building great relationships with them along the way.
Robert shares how he’s been able to train parents to become better than some of the practitioners he’s worked with in the states. Parent training models are becoming more prevalent, as it’s a more comprehensive approach to making a lasting impact. When everyone who spends time with a child knows how to work with them, they make a lot more progress. Robert also applies his principles to general parenting, as they aren’t dependent on any specific diagnosis. The principles help people develop better relationships throughout the entire household. Currently, Robert is working on a program called “Just 7 Steps” to help families become better parents through behavioral analysis.

What is in the way of expanding horizons for therapists and look further then their approach, especially if recipients of the approach are reporting it to be psychologically abusive?

Expand your knowledge on the science and best practice and the ethical code. Talk to people who have experience with ABA - both as clients and experienced practitioners. ABA might not be for everyone but it should always be ethical and compassionate

@@HowtoABA just because someone wrote "ethical code" do6esn't mean it's ethical enough. How about you expand your knowledge on DIR Floortime and why it's better approach? :)
