She's simply my favorite singer, and the fact that she is still singing 64 years old shows that she hasn't damaged her beautiful voice in more than 40 years!!! BRAVA!!!
I saw her today at the rehearsal with the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen. She sang this song, it was so amazing. I adore her. SHES JUST GREAT
Fantastic! I still find it amazing how she maintains the same sound quality after so many years. And she's a comic genious. Any idea if she's studied this style with someone in particular? An older Viennese soprano maybe?

Des tas de chanteuses qui ont fait mieux (sans se ruiner la voix, et feront mieux (tiens Damrau qui a pratiquement l'âge de Dessay et qui est en plein possession de ces moyens, elle). By the way...EG ici cabotine un comédie musicale... pas de belcanto... écoutez donc votre Dessay d'aujourd'hui, voilà une voix kaputt...... J'aimerais bien entendre ND à 62 ans... la nouvelle FF Jenkins! Elle y est presque!
Excellent for a soprano of her age, considering everything that she has put that voice through. I agree with the person who said that her high notes are a big screamy, but that's just my opinion.

ND a une production du son purement musculaire, d'où les nodules à répétition. On est loin d'où techniquement parfait. Et si on a pas une santé de cheval, ça casse. ND est une chanteuse sur-estimée, je trouve. Et pour définitivement vous choquer, j'ai adoré entendre Dessay chanter Sophie. Oui. Mais Violetta? Grand Dieu, pourquoi pas Norma? Brrr...
@Musicadivina1969 ma sai anche io mi domando da anni questa cosa...Ad esempio ho sentito la Ricciarelli che cantava questa estate ad un manifestazione a Roma e ti giuro era imbarazzante. Cosa ti porta dopo una lunga carriera sfolgorante a sostenere tali figuracce? Dire i soldi sarebbe troppo facile, forse credono che sotto il palco ci siano solo parvenu...

I totally agree with you, but let's not make her older than she is. :-) She was born on December 23th 1946, which means she's only 61 years old.
