This series was about the depth of human emotion and how they do not conform to the constructs and definitions and labels with their attendant expectations. We see that as much what happens beckons us to judge the characters for what they say and do, and in some cases do not say and do not, we are left with just this deep sense of just how deeply bonded Jonathan and Mira are and how many accumulated wounds and equal parts moments of forgiveness lie the chasm between them. In the end, they are trying to reach each other, always somehow failing to find an embrace that would meld them together for good.
Jonathan maybe had some intimacy and honesty issues (like issue with being honest with himself, instead of trying to be what he thinks is a "good man"), but Mira is just toxicity in a human body. I watched the series and I just could NOT believe Jonathan not only chose to marry, but chose to have a KID, with this crazy person. And she thinks she "has always loved" Jonathan? I don't know what kind of sick person you have to be, to actually believe, and actually have the gall to say you love someone, after literally tearing them apart and leaving them for dead, emotionally, the way she did. WTF.

I love this movie and hoped someone would make something exactly like this. Thank you. This mirrors my experience a lot and I’m definitely teary eyed. You don’t realize what you have till it’s gone. I miss my kids dad. I miss my family. It’s pure irony that you can’t see things clearly until your on the outside. But if you risk going outside, you risk never getting it back. She took a risk on a new relationship instead of working through her boredom of her current one. Then she tries to get him back but he only gets with her physically. Sex. It’s sad to watch her regret. It’s sad to watch them want the family they had before, knowing it’s gone.
I hope and am sure that you'll get through this. As long as you're still breathing, don't consider the end of some things like the end of everything

I see you. When I first saw this show, and the Bergman original, little did I know I would end up in a similar place. I empathize with both, though, Mira and Jonathan, as the two of them lose so much in the end. But that’s life, I guess, or a f***ed up version of life. Because she was bored, and the husband cheats on his second wife with her , marriage is not just sex. Marriage is a complete life in which patience loyalty never gives up, in the end the only victim is their daughter

The series is good. Healthy people will watch this and see a cautionary tale. Sick people will watch this and think it's some sort of justification for sick shit. Art is art, a story is just a story, what you take away from it says more about you than ... well, the story itself.
