    I'm impatiently waiting for their rackless panniers.

    Bought these in November for my 1250gsa , proper bit of kit , extremely well made & easy to store . Went this way as I’d seen videos of panniers damaging peoples legs in a accident or dropping the bike , thought it might be easier as they are semi rigdged.

    Sweet. Looking forward to a more in-depth review after some rides. I'm riding a 1200 GS at the moment with the vario-cases (not happy with them), switching from a 1200 GSA with panniers.
    Lone-Rider are now finishing up the design of the rackless bags for the 1200 GS, making the system a lot less wide on the bike. It also simplifies the attachment-system

    • @philippegosseau
      @philippegosseau Před 2 lety

      not sure it won't be as wide, there would be very little difference specially on the exhaust side. plus so far they are keeping the same capacity bags.

    Be interesting to see these compared with soft bumot equivalents and which you prefer 🤔

    Great video, look a Quality bit of kit.... ps how come you stopped back to a 1250 GS mark...??? I thought you loved the 850 GS...???

    • @markholroyd5365
      @markholroyd5365 Před rokem +1

      Dave I loved it however… New valve shims and a chain and sprocket at 12,000 miles and a slight possibility that they would need fling again at 18,000 miles made me loose a bit of confidence in the bike. In all of my big GSA’s (now seven) the shims have never needed to be replaced. Sitting back on the battle feels lovely. Ride safe

    They look great, whats then weight like compaired to the hard cases?

    • @markholroyd5365
      @markholroyd5365 Před 2 lety +2

      Much lighter than the metal ones, enough to feel a difference. Ride safe

    So do you have to carry the bag into the hotel with all the metal work and fittings attached or is there a quick release to allow you to carry just the bags?

    • @RiderCamTV
      @RiderCamTV  Před 2 lety +1

      the bags detach from the rack on the bike :)

    • @MillfieldWheels
      @MillfieldWheels Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks but I was meaning all the metal brackets that were on the bags that attach them to the racks, that big one with the lever mechanism for example.

    • @markholroyd5365
      @markholroyd5365 Před 2 lety +1

      I leave the bags attached and take the inner bags into the hotel. Ride safe

    Would really mind to know if the lone rider bags could be used with a unit garage pannier rack for my Triumph scrambler 1200XE

  • @davidwilkie6302
    @davidwilkie6302 Před 2 lety +2

    Do they fit on nc 750x

    • @markholroyd5365
      @markholroyd5365 Před 2 lety +2

      They can be modified to fit any rack system by using the tools supplied. Mine fitted the OEM racks out of the box so they must be able to provide for most bikes. Ride safe.

    Could you get a helmet in the 38ltr one? Not to ride with it in but just parked.

    I watched another video you did about the Bumot hard panniers…which setup (lone rider soft panniers or Bumot hard panniers) do you prefer and why?

    • @RiderCamTV
      @RiderCamTV  Před 11 měsíci +1

      They are both great set ups to be honest. The bump are hefty and secure although weigh a little more than the Lone Rider setup. Both are comparable cost. The Lone Rider bags are easy to pack but a little more faff than the Bumots. We prefer them both and Mark takes the Bumot sometimes as well as the Lone Riders... both a great option but really hard to decide which one we prefer.....

    Bumot or Lone Rider soft luggage on a GSA what do you guys think

    • @markholroyd5365
      @markholroyd5365 Před rokem +2

      Both, I know that’s not a big help but it comes down to what you like best. I’ve used the Lone Riders all summer but have changed to Bumot over the winter… Ride safe

      @@markholroyd5365Did you change to the Bumot hard luggage or soft panniers?

    • @markholroyd5365
      @markholroyd5365 Před 11 měsíci

      @@usmcshepherdE9 I have had the hard luggage for a long time. I’m still not convinced that I really like the soft luggage as I have just got back from a trip with my wife and constantly having to struggle to get the full inner bags inside was a pain.
