Is it just me or did he make it seem all funny but it really is a problem lol. I don't truly know alot about fighting but I feel like if you lock in a chokes on you back, then you can do that standing. Why not take a few seconds more time to make sure it's in before jumping. Or use the threat to turn him against the cage and get some shots in, on the separation. Oh and lastly st Dennis has horrible submissions lol. Him having his back meant nothing. Dustin would use one of his arms to stop the hooks with zero real threat.

@@michaelturley3457 The guillotine's were so frustrating to be honest. He hurt Benoit early in the second and still pulled a guillotine. That fight should've ended so much earlier if Dustin aimed to punch Benoit's lights out from the start.
Poirier was out after that first guillotine, his adrenaline was pumped as he got it , then you could see everything just drain out of him , the adrenaline had literally gone, zapping all energy , everytime he pulled the guillotine his energy went.
It was a silly mistake to keep trying them as he was just wasting energy , boxing was the way to win BSD has no boxing , when Poirier started swinging he was in his element and BSD just walked onto a couple.
Had Poirier continued trying the guillotines he wouldn't have had the energy to get BSD off him and would have lost.
This also showed poiriers huge cardio , without that he probably wouldn't have got through the first round,, that first guillotine seriously drained Poirier of adrenaline, and an adrenaline dump is horrible, its a nasty feeling.
He coulda had the first round if he just stuffed the takedowns instead of pulling like 3 jumping guillotines

@@juanquntos7123 Dustin usually ends up on bottom in bad positions because he jumps with it and sacrifices his own base to try the sub. Guillotines can be good for position but you gotta control the dude with the crank on their head/neck. When you jump and try to pull guard with it you give up top position every time you don't choke the guy out, it's very risky

People who always try to "Blitz" or rush through fights, forcing finishes, usually always meet this kind of wall. This was the issue with McKinney. This was the issue with Khamzat too. If a person looks TOO GOOD because they're steamrolling and finishing everyone quickly, it means they're yet to be exposed. Their flaws are getting covered. Methodical fighters are always better than bulldozers. Almost.
They're called front-runners. The only question is when they get tired is do they have that dawg in them to keep going or do they wilt and give up?

But he has to learn just like Justin did when he fought Dustin the first time. If he can adapt his fighting style to be smarter the way Gaethje did we have a real elite fighter in the making.

Apparently he was on medication for staph which may have severely reduced his stamina. Not saying that was the reason he lost. But it is worth noting. I was just saying that he was inexperienced. What he was really capable of he proved in that first round against Dustin. That was more than enough proof he is at least capable of fighting at an elite level. I don't agree with him being the favorite though as Dustin is a true veteran and BSD simply had not fought anywhere near the level he did. But it wasn't a bad pick even though he lost. He is very skilled. There is no doubting that now.
