The rb89 is $64 the rb17p is currently $57 normally $74. That's via the Retevis website.

Amazon has the 17p under $40 for a single radio.

I do like the display and form factor... If I had one, I'd be searching for a way to open the frequency coverage to work on the 70 cm amateur band. In the meantime I've got a Baofeng/Sainsonic HT that works quite well except for its hair-trigger PTT button.

Technically speaking, GMRS handheld radios aren't supposed to have removable antennas. That's probably why they made it with a set screw.

Yes they can have removable antenna's. FRS radios can not have removable antenna's.

I have a HD1 made by Ailunce a subsidiary of RETVIS and it’s CPS is a pain to program.

Technically speaking, GMRS is allowed removable antennas, and is one of the three main criteria for a radio to be classified as GMRS.

Yeah. But I'm kinda puzzled... what's an obviously elite person like you doing here on CZcams?
