Scabies is a condition that is caused by mites called Sarcoptes scabiei. It results in itchiness as mites burrow in the skin. It is contagious and spreads via physical contact.
What are the Symptoms of Scabies? The most common symptom of scabies is severe itching, often at night. Sometimes, they leave visible burrow tracks that look like bumps or blisters. They are most likely to appear in skin folds but can appear anywhere. Evidence is often found in armpits and the inside of wrists, as well as: between fingers, breasts, inner elbow, genitalia, knees and shoulder blades. As well as on the face, neck, scalp, bottoms of feet and palms of hands. It can take up to 6 weeks for symptoms to appear. However, they show up faster if you have had scabies in the past.
What are the Causes of Scabies? Scabies is caused by the female Sarcoptes scabiei mite. Which burrows into an individual’s skin and reproduces. Symptoms are an individual’s allergic reaction to the presence of the mites. Scabies spreads quickly and easily through contact with other people. It occurs in when an affected individual is in close contact with others. By touching them, sleeping in the same bed or sharing personal items. Many cases in teenagers and young adults are spread through sexual contact. Age, race, and socioeconomic status play no role Although there have been epidemics in recent years, in certain situations: Care facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, institutions and homelessness.
How is Scabies Treated? Treatment for scabies is focused on getting rid of the infestation. Entire families or groups of people may be treated because it is so contagious. Medication includes Lindane lotion, Ivermectin, Permethrin cream and Crotamiton.
How is Scabies Prevented? Avoid close contact with people who have scabies. Avoid contact with clothing or bedding with the person who is infested. If you have been infested with scabies, there are precautions you need to take. Items such as clothing and linens should be washed in water hot water. The temperature should reach 122 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius). Then dried on the highest possible heat setting, for 10 to 30 minutes. Vacuum everything, throw away the bag and clean with hot water and bleach. Use bleach and hot water on surfaces the mites were on.

I had scabies before and I had it for a YEAR! My doctor gave me some permethrin cream and it really helped. 100000% recommend permethrin cream. I also showered with neem oil and it helped with the itching. If none of these work for you, cover your whole body with Aloe Vera and it should also help. The permethrin cream helped the most for me though. Make sure it’s all over your body or the scabies can come back. Hope this helped!❤️

I thought what I had was hives but webmd has me thinking its Scabies. I have them all over my body but not in my knees, fingers or shoulder blades. I noticed them about a week ago and the redness has gone down on some but I still have more bumps daily. Help?? I have no money to see a doctor
Sarcoptes scabiei are itch mites. Do u feel itchy? Because if not, then what u have isn't scabies but something else. If it is scabies, then I think any of each of these things might work:
1. clove oil,
2. tea-tree oil,
3. aloe Vera,
4. turmeric,
5. Neem oil
6. Sulfur soap
7. Permethrin cream
Scabies do not live in head and face.

@@raygarcia2373 It helps with drying them out and helps with calming the itching. My husband had a patch of scabies on his leg and it's how we got rid of them but it took a while to fully get rid of them.
