I turned my SUV into an amazing Car Camper for $65!! All it took was wood, screws and sweat! This SUV Camper build gave me extra leg room, a kitchen counter that doubles as a desk or table. The bed platform allows extra storage which is organized and out of sight but still EASY to access!

Yes, I enjoyed your video. I, too, have the same suv as you do. I didn't realize those storage compartments come out without too much work! I now have some good ideas about how I'm going to get started on my own set up. It'll be nice having somewhere to put your legs besides, like you said, crisscross. I think I'll go home depot and see what boards and remnants are either on discount or free. I'll have some measurements with me in case a nice employee in that department offers to cut some pieces for me😊. Thanks for the tips👍.

Nice to see a Hyundai camping version. I have a 2019 Tucson and just looking at fitting it out for an extended round trip.
Love Hyundai's, have had great experiences with them. Even when something went wrong one time, Hyundai stepped in and took care of it free of charge AND the warranty had already expired. Every now and then I move my no build setup to my hubby's Tucson and it works really well. It actually has more head room in the back than my Santa Fe. Safe and happy travels on your extended round trip!

I’ve seen people use the Ikea kid kitchens, looks really good. I was contemplating that myself but my SUV cargo area isn’t flat along the bottom sides so I scrapped that plan. I hope you find what you’re looking for!

That is so exciting! I've always liked the style of the Encore. It's even easier if you have Home Depot/Lowe's do the cutting for you. Fun story, I accidentally broke those sun glasses 2 days ago - sad face...lol. Uggg!

Thank you! I don’t have it secured down but now you’ve given me an idea to consider. I definitely don’t want it to fly around if there’s an accident (hopefully not). I think I’ll use ratchet straps at the bottom, connected to the cargo hooks. Thanks for that question because I wasn’t even thinking about that!

As a concerned citizen please do not wear gloves while using a power saw, it makes the saw much more dangerous. If the saw is on and the blade hits the glove it will not protect your fingers but it is likely that the cloth will get caught on the blade and pull your hand in to the blade causing a more serious injury.
I thank you for that very much. Makes 100% sense. Definitely will not wear gloves with power tools again!
