further I drive Coaches for Greyhound occasionally from Sydney to Brisbane and sure enough 95% of backpackers jump off in Byron.
Whilst Byron is as beautiful I often think the 5% who jump off in Newy are the smarter ones and either in for the best shock or know something.

The natural landscape in nsw is a trillion times nicer then vic. Its night and day difference and not even comparable. Im leaving boring freezing melbourne to the central coast thank god. Newcastle is a beautiful city

Actually it’s too late, my husband and I can’t wait to move here, ( more warners bay, Charlestown area ). We are born SEQ and are so over the Gold Coast. So over the heat, people, rent that’s insane and having to drive an hour and a half to ice skate. This summer has killed us, not one night under 26. Be grateful you live there. I don’t know why people love Queensland. Yes I was born here but I’m sick of sweating 24/7.
