This is now very popular especially among singers because doing this song requires so much skills, breath control, proper diction, emotion, etc. This was released before thru another artist but exploded after recorded officially by Morissette. She's really like having the mythical "Midas touch" that turns any song into gold. Many of us doesn't listen until Mori performed this. 😍🏆. You can feel her vulnerability, her anger, her desperation and ultimately coming to peace, as she finally decides to let go. („Bibitaw na“ - I am letting go now)
Diction is the very most important element in singing. Every singer should precisely pronounce or enunciate every word they are saying. This applies to all singers around the world especially when they sing an English song. You may have the highest vocal range but if you sing English song w/ accent still is not impressive. But, this lady has no problem singing foreign songs. Honest observation...sorry!!!

I just want to say that I completely relate to your (lovely wife) comment regarding how she felt disconnected in the beginning of this song. I, myself being Filipino who understand the lyrics, didn’t quite hit me from the start until she started pouring more emotion into the song (although heart breaking song it may be).
