I am a dude with my hair half down my back who works in IT at a Fortune 500 company. As long as it looks like you are taking care of it (you don't look like you live in a cave) most places don't care.

Love the way you explain the process of this haircut. And to me very Happy to see a guy and stylist that can see that by not cutting a guys hair very short it gives the guy more hairstyling options then when it way short. This style looks cool

That isn’t good, If it’s something he fears then that’s exactly why he needs to go and do it.. you think your being a good parent by shielding them from their worries but your actually making the issue worse and worse. Make him go to the barber he’ll grow up and get over it only if you let him

I like this cut. Especially how it's layered and it has movement. I'm one of those guys who is always touching my hair so it's probably a good style to have.

I have been cutting my hair since the last 7 years My quality was degrading lately and taking longer. Your technique is wonderful I watched carefully and applied and had a wonderful result plus never had a haircut which looks good from the first day! Let's see how it will look in the coming weeks! My only struggle as a self barber is not being able to hold the scissors looking upwards on one side. I will try to think what I can do next time. THANKS A LOT!!!

I've cut my own hair since I was a teen, with varying results, lol, but the layered look feels extra tricky to do. This is exactly the method I've been looking for a breakdown of! So thank you! Now if I can manage it on my own without noticing my arms are too short or I can't see what I'm doing, that's another story, but I'm definitely gonna give it a try! Because it's been well over a year since I last cut my hair down to a total shave, and I'm sure it needs a trim, even though I somehow can't see any split ends. It's uneven as fuck, so at least there's that to fix.
I feel you on the height issue. Been cutting and styling hair for along time and I use an old bottle crate ( dr. Pepper) flipped over to give me about 3 more inches of reach. Works great believe it or not. Just always remove it so your not tripping over it when not in use.

Honestly this is for women too. Charlize Theron, Meg Ryan, Keanu reeves and many others sported these hairstyles, personally even i had similar hair when i buzzed off most of mine. So did my sister and my father back in his day.

Great fundamentals, I have this issue thousands of time in which I want my hair long but hairdressers believe they need to cut off a lot of hair in order to have a good haircut. Finally an awesome hairdresser on youtube

For now I have a blunt cut bob with very few layers and im ok with it, but If I would have just let it grow then I would have longer hair and look like this.

Stephen, great video. My hair currently looks like Franks before the haircut (even though I had mine cut 2 weeks ago). I'm having a hard time keeping my hair out of my face, so I always wear a hat to keep it back. Is there anything you would recommend to help? I think it's because my part isn't on the centre of my head, and so the side that has more hair always falls in my face. Is it possible to force a center part? Thanks!

I've been trying to get this look for years.
Over several hairdressers no one seems to get the idea of having long layers in a long style. Whenever I ask for layers they cut it short, making the last 12-18 months growth a waste of time.
I ask for long, but they then say that you can't layer. So, I have no idea. Could I book a flight over? =)

Same situation here. Been growing out hair. Decided to have a fix after 10 months. The damn hairdresser took 3 months away plus a ridiculous little-girl-bunny-hair finish. Cost me 500 ntd. Went to another barbershop to have another fix with layered and thinning. Cost only 100 ntd but worth every penny.
Thanks to this videos my wife was able to cut my hair 😁 it came out pretty good!
My length is currently the same as his. It’s been just growing without trims but is starting to get shaggy. Problem is I’ve been scared to go get it trimmed for fear of walking out with much less hair.
I love the result of this cut and really hope I can find someone who can do it like this.

Looks good! You & I cut very similarly. I think a good addition to it, would be to take yr thinning shears cutting diagonally to the ends (last inch ish...) of yr top layers. And maybe to point cut the layers or all of it. And maybe had him look down a little more at the start when u made yr guide. I can appreciate u making this much easier for video purposes though & probably know all of this already!!! 😉 🙏🏽💗
