I liked the little theory based on criminal psychology and power dynamics.

Thanks! It’s tough to balance how much is too much to say when explaining certain theories and stuff

Your analysis is amazing, and I'm ridiculously hyped for your thoughts on the rest of the series. You're definitely going to pick up on a lot of the things most people take a long time to grasp (or never do), and there's so, so much to unpack. Subscribed.

Aw thanks! As I'm a couple episodes ahead at this point I have to admit I didn't think id be so invested in this series but it really got to me. Hopefully I'm able to call somethings out however I might be completely wrong from time to time haha

Asking for a paying job is a smart move especially one that comes with a roof over your head and food in your belly.

@@gctypo2838 Yeah but I was mainly making the point that Subaru didn't need to ask for a job in order to get food and shelter. He even comments later on how dumb of a decision it was to ask for a job. In the end, asking for a job is the right thing to do, but not because of food or shelter.

I am baffled by how close your analysis of who might have been the suspect was. 'o'
The first time i watched it, i don't think i had a single clue of who might have done it except, reversing the logic, who didn't do it. I do wonder if you kept track of how Puck doesn't show signs of "being resetted" each time ; of course he does get resetted at the last save point but how fast does he catch up with Subaru's level of knowledge, i meant.

There is a stupid meme in anime connected to the moon in that "the moon is pretty" sounds like "I love you" in Japanese. I don't think that was connected to change or whatever, it was just Subaru failing at flirting because of cultural differences.

Subaru is kinda creepy... Wanting to touch Betty, regardless of her wishes, stalking Emilia, calling Emilia by a very familiar title, when even the lord doesn't.

I have not read the source so maybe I am wrong. But I think that Subaru does plan ahead... but not optimally.
He thinks getting the job is a chance to make him less sus and closer to Emillia at the same time... but although that is future planning; its bad future planning.

If u didn’t know, the honorific ‘tan’ isn’t used in Japanese speech, but usually to refer to a girl in a manga/light novel etc. title. I’m not Japanese but I think it’s considered weird to use ‘tan’ in any context, so Subaru is just being a weeb and all while nobody else knows what it means lol
Edit: there’s a vid on CZcams that talks about honorifics in re:zero if u wanna know more

Man, I so want to throw a random hint about something you thought about, but I'll hold myself and tell you an out-of-context hint. The main antagonist is right under your nose, and they're doing a very good job of concealing their antagonistic intentions. Let's see if you figure out who it is in the future.

Your criminal diagnostic forgot 2 potential killers although not likely they were brought up this episode. Kids/Dog. Dog was even violent and bit him.
Motives for children would likely reflect a reward of some kind for doing it since virtually no one sus a child assassin so they would be perfect. Also some bacteria can kill within 24 hours so the dog bite could be sus in that regard.
But other than those far reaching choices you did great.
Always fun to see how your deciphering the clues.

Initially, his decision to work seems stupid and there's better things he could ask for. That's why it's funny when it turns out to be the correct decision.
