Good first effort Matt. Familiarity in that kind of environment will definitely raise your level. The more tournaments you enter the more comfortable you’ll feel 👍 Where do you stand on pre match lubricant? 😂 I know I play better, particularly under pressure after a couple of pints but it’s not something I want to rely on. Tricky one 🤔
Haha, mate, I gotta tell you I have ALMOST completed dry January but this Saturday was really hard.

Love seeing someone getting into and loving the game. I've been playing for the past 4 years and just started getting competitive a year ago, and strongly support anyone wanting to give this game a shot. Never too young, never too old.
Tournaments over here in America tend to be a bit different (we usually cram as many events into our tournaments as possible) but I remember losing everything in my first few tournaments. Kept at it and now I'm a state champion with several tournament wins. But that first step is always the most important! Looking forward to seeing your improvement!

Just happened across this video, great first tournament experience. Like others have said, playing against other people in leagues/k.o’s is the best way to get experience.

I don’t really play anymore (not competitively anyway) due to a persistent elbow problem. But do still like to have a throw now and again at home.

@@Darts_Matt It’s tennis elbow, and even though I did all the physio the drs said it still flares up unexpectedly. It’s okay at the moment though, but it’s been a problem in every day life since 2016, lol. I look forward to a possible game in the future.👍

I did score and funnily the game I got was Joshua Richardson, and he lost 4-3 and exited stage left quick time!
So my brain was working double busy as they were rapid, he averages 98 first 9!
It is all electronic tho, so add em quick and type them in. Easy 😁
@Darts_Matt I'm up in the North East - I've had a look and there's plenty nearby, it's just that thought of averaging 38 and looking a bit daft.
Ah yeah electronic scoring definitely makes life easier. I can usually do the adding up, it's the taking away that I struggle with 🤣
It's tricky isn't it. I know exactly what you mean. Perhaps start at a pub tournament, rather than a ADC supported one! But either way, I was one of the worst there but still enjoyed it and will only be better for it 👍 just go for it!
I might be remembering wrong, but did you go to a place in Milton Keynes to have a practice with good setups? I’m there on the weekend so I’d love to know where that was as I’ve not found anywhere in MK with good setups

This one was RAF Brize Norton. An ADC ranking event 🎯👍
