Shobbhe Dey is a beautiful blending of the old and the new generations. She doesn't mess around, but speaks out her mind. Yes, she was born with some privileges which helped her on, but the same privileges may be your undoing. Yes, big cities have more competitions. The margin of errors is very narrow. So, nothing comes cheap.

I like Shobhaa Des writing but get a grip..you sit in the heart of the privileged world ...with wealth and contacts..ambanis and top cops kissing upto you. Its very easy for you to preach. Nobody chooses to be a victim..most often than not..most women ..or most ppl in general ARE victims . And you or Bandooki Dadi or Talwarika devi disagreeing with it is not going to change a thing
Yes, the victims are mostly the victims regardless of the class, and lower class people deal directly with violence.
This is good for the upper-class society. But what about the lower class women? Older women in the periphery? Please tell how you will save them from the comforts of your upper-class balconies?

Shobhaa De, under the garb of 'everyone' takes an indirect dig at Gurmehar for so there called objectification of her clinically enhanced plastic beauty. She really must be grateful to her dermatologist, secretly though.
