- Howdy off road adventure and Jeep enthusiasts! Here's my favorite type of video to make sharing a few awesome features of the Mojave desert in my backyard.
We'll head up Last Chance Canyon for an easy 4x4 trail that will take us through some absolutely beautiful scenery. From there, I'll take you for a relatively quick tour of the Burro Schmidt tunnel.
Here's a link to the @onXOffroad route I ran in this video...

These are the types of videos I enjoy. Watching you learn wheel placement and other skills in your awesome over built jeep lol these fun adventure videos are always fun to watch and your personality is perfect for this. It's always funny to me that I enjoy watching videos of people doing the same thing I do 🤔
Thanks 👍 Me too 😂
Now, if you could head to a forest and hit some of those trails. The desert and rocks have been done to death.
Dude! You know when someone asks you if you die and could come back as anyone, who would it be? I would pick Jeepin' Jason. Come one now, Jeep, trails, and Pinto? Dude, you're such an amazing person. Thanks for sharing everything with us.
Edit: it's been a while since I've been to the channel. I was watching the drone recovery video and realized you have lost Pinto. Jason I'm so sorry. I took my dog Groovy to the vet last month for a quality of life checkup and we didn't get good news. We'll have to put him down soon. I enjoyed watching Pinto help build that Jeep. Maybe Pinto and Groovy could meet up in doggy heaven soon ❤
Really appreciate the incredible amount of editing you put in to your videos which are already such a gift to those of us that are dealing with health issues that are currently very limiting.
Thanks again for the great experience !
Thank you for watching and taking a moment to leave a comment... I'm sending good thoughts your way and hope your health get better soon.
Jeeping Jason aka One Man Production Crew
Videos always Top Notch
😂 🎬
Heck yeah! Excited to see you hitting more dirt!
Edit: After watching I wanted to add, these are my favorite type of videos from you!
Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, Jason. More please!
Epic Adventure, I always learn something new after watching your videos, from auto maintenance to historic landmarks. Thanks for giving us another great video to enjoy.👍
Love the content man, glad you were able to get out in the dirt and share again. Keep them coming!
Thanks! Will do!
You still need to run the Mojave Road on the channel!
I love seeing these videos again, couldn't wait to watch it once I saw it come up!
On it! Thanks for the reminder!
I love these videos! 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 I’d like to see more of these with the Jeep and the Tahoe.
Epic!
🙌
Great video. Thanks
You are welcome!
This was fun to watch, it’s very cool to see historic sites and hearing the stories behind them! Makes me excited to jump in my truck for an adventure!
Glad you enjoyed! And I hope you enjoy your adventure!
Thanks for the ride. Looks awesome. I was just in Death Valley and had a great time. You live in beautiful country.
Definitely need more Jeep content!
Okiedokie
I miss So Cal so much. I was in VV4Wheelers Jeep Club and we went all over the desert. Thanh you for your fun, informative content
You bet!
Noice, get it Jason! Always enjoy your content. Love seeing your Jeep hitting the trails!
Thanks 👍
Awesome seeing the Jeep back out on the trail, looks like a cool area back there too.
Thanks 👍
Great to see some jeeping content again!
Yeah buddy!
Good to see you back in the Jeep on the dirt. Great video.
Hey thanks!
@@AutoEdits And a hard top!
Very much enjoyed this video!! I want to go through that tunnel!!
Thank you!!!
Great video, great to see you out wheeling.
More to come!
Very Cool Video Jason! Keep up the vibe.
sweet! more off road content
That's the plan!
I Love what you did with your jeep.
Thanks... it works pretty good.
best videos you make. Keep them coming!
Thanks, will do!
Been waiting on more off-road action.
👍
Awesome Jason yes more out door videos 📹
Okiedokie!
So, of course we want you out there more often but unfortunately I can't subscribe twice. So here we are, stuck 😂
Well done... I actually laughed out loud (worth typing all the way) 🤣
Glad to see you out there wheeling. As always and good video.
Thanks!
Nice rig beautiful scenery. 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
Love watching that thing flex and do work on the trail. I envy the life of the mid-week Jeeper. I saved your trail route to my OnX maps, too!!
HA... it does pretty good. Going to put it through the ringer next week so we'll see how it does. Yes, you should take the fam out to check this out... it's really fun.
@@AutoEdits I have a 2022 Bronco that follows me sometimes (my father-in-law). Is he capable enough to make it as well??
Yes, no problem for the bronco.
Awesome view bro
Yeah thanks!!!
Cool ass video Jason! 👍🏻
Cool ass comment... thanks 🤘
Looks like a great place. 👏
It is!
I think it's time for another trail dog. Everyone misses Pinto!
I'm still not ready yet. I do have friends bring their dogs over to my backyard to play and that makes me pretty happy at the moment.
Hi Jason, I went out there back '07 or '08 on a quad that I had at the time. The trail you were on has changed quit a bit from when I was on it. I used to go prospecting in that area. Glad I got to see it again.
I'm happy to hear this!
Awesome to see you back on the dirt! Let me know if you ever want to hit some trails in Anza or Big Bear.
I have never really run ANY trails in Anza and would like to someday!
A VERY fun trail. Been there maybe 2-3 times. That last hill is called graduation hill which is the last obstacle of the trail. I’ve always wanted to go check out those tunnels though! Thanks for taking us along. Got a few videos on my page of this trail. Check out freeway ridge next time
Edit: would loooove to watch more videos like this
Thanks for the tip and I'll check out your vids as well 👍
Hartop paint is holding up nice. ⚡
I've been happy with it so far... we'll see how it looks by the end of summer.
I’ve watched you build you Jeep over the years and you’ve showed me some tips and trips how I should build mine. I want to see your Jeep out on the trail more now that it is built. I want to see if I should take it to your level but I want to see you really test it like you have before. Thanks jason
That's the plan! Thank you for the support!
So glad you are back out in the dirt!! Great video👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you very much!
More off road trails please.....
Roger that.
Great video. I'll be heading out there this weekend in my jk with a few pals 🎉 love that trail
I love hearing this! Have fun 👍
5:47 had zoom to see exactly what finger gestures he was using 😂
HA! There was a couple of dudes and they were really friendly. 👍
YAY!!!
Been too long man.
Yup!
Looked like a lot of fun, hopefully one day I’ll get out to places like this with my Jeep….nothing like this in the Midwest.
If you're ever out this way... I'll send you a couple of routes!
@@AutoEdits thanks, I’d like that!
Jason , Next Time You Do Last Chance Head To Randsburg And Eat At The Valt , Great Food Bro !!!
Thanks for the tip!
When I used to ride dirt bikes, a friend of mine always wanted to ride to the Burroughs Schmidt tunnel.
Now all the clubs that I regularly wheel with due last chance Canyon regularly. Doesn’t look too too tough might have to give it a go.
That might actually be closer than Gorman
Dude, after what I watched you wheel in Calico... this is a trip to the mall with much better scenery. Let's go.
@@AutoEditsanytime! Except this weekend because I’ll be at the USARC adaptable poker run in Johnson Valley.
Seriously if you ever want to try something on a weekday, let me know. I have a very flexible schedule for day trips.
Or if you want to try something and you don’t want to go solo
You can even show me how to crash my drone 😂
Great video! I am still waiting for our trails to open up for the season (They close up due to snow). Getting closer!
Thanks! Is this the latest you've had to wait?
@@AutoEdits the forest up here above 4K ish feet don’t open until April 15 at the earliest. But last year many didn’t open until July because of how much snow we had. It was pretty crazy. Some areas had 30ft of snow at this point last year.
Cool looking trail, gonna try it with few rigs soon. NOT SIDE BY SIDES LOL
😂 Have fun!
Aww man you missed going up the real line on that last hill, the right side up the ledge is the line to do. It looks way more scary from the bottom vs when you go up it, I did it in my rubicon on 35” ko2s. Next time you’ll have to do that line, it gets the blood rushing. Also next time your out there, check out the talc mines north of the tunnel. Well worth some time checking them out. Massive mines running down into the mountain and at the bottom is a massive horizontal tunnel you can walk through. It’s not an easy walk down or up but well worth it!! I’d be happy to send you some coordinates for it.
I love the borax mines! Thanks for the suggestion... I was on a mission to get to the tunnel this trip and just see if I could get out of my funk and into my Jeep on the dirt. Mission accomplished... now for more adventures.
Mclvers Cabin is another good trail out that way, near Dove Springs.
Excellent suggestion. What's the difficulty ... about the same as this?
@@AutoEdits Yes Sir....I would say the difficulty is about the same but I haven't been to the cabin in 7 or 8 years. The last two times I attempted to go, there was to much snow at the higher elevation that had frozen over to ice, so we only made it within about two miles of the cabin. I would recommend waiting till mid summer.
Thanks for sharing. Such a cool area of the El Paso Mountains in the Mojave Desert. The pastel mountains feel like Mars. Did you happen to stop by Bickel Camp and the Borax Mines?
Thanks for coming along... I have been to those spots and I look to share the borax in a video since it's such a cool visual. I was kind of surprised how vivid the pink on the rocks was this time.
Hope you stopped by Rosamond and went to Las Margaritas on your way back down south.
Next time!
👍👍
🙌👍
Glad to see you got a chance to get out wheeling . Your jeep is by far one of my favourite you tube builds. Do you still have the dr400?
It's fairly simple but more capable than I am as a driver... so far! I sure do have the Suzuki... kind of stuck on the side yard for the moment due to some drama getting health insurance. Been a tricky year.
I’ve been wondering when/if you were going to put out more videos like this.
Me too, for a while there... glad to be back out there having fun.
Thanks for causing me to be depressed.... East coast just does not have anything like these trails......
Well I certainly didn't want you to be bummed... just make a plan to come out west sometime and hit some cool spots!
Great video! Missed these! What’s the next big jeep project? Hemi?
Thanks! I've been wanting to do long arms in the rear and try the 4 link long arm front kit and see if the Jeep goes even faster down dirt roads. Not practical I know but sound like a fun experiment.
@@AutoEdits Awesome idea! I cannot wait to watch the videos to come!
Another great video!!! What ball joints are you running? TIA
Those are from Rare Parts and I love them... best steering feel out there. Here's the setup video czcams.com/video/ntjWrcJLBkU/video.html
Maybe you need a skid plate for the dana 60.
I thought about that as well but the whole point of the D60 is the strength and I don't want to lose any more clearance. Even though I smashed it pretty hard... it barely has a scratch on it! So I feel a bit more secure.
Video didn't show up on my feed 😢 so a day late. I see what looks like a water container on your spare, is that new? I don't recall a video about it.
Good spot. That's where I sometimes mount a gas can but just threw the water jug on for this trip.
How do you have it mounted? @@AutoEdits
Wonder if the trail is wide enough for my tundra . Seems like certain areas are a tight fit
Yes it is! Just put your tires on the rocks and maybe have a spotter make sure you keep your rocker panels safe.
Are you still running the Metal cloak longarm suspension lift? If so are you still happy with it? Any problems or concerns with it?
I am and still extremely happy with it.
@@AutoEdits Thank you!
Have u ever destroyed a diff on a trailer???
Yeah, the hit in this video would've wrecked my old D44 cover and leaked all over the trail. This Fusion D60 shrugged off that massive smack. (thank goodness) 😂
Sorry it was supposed to say on a trail...lol
enjoyed the video. glad to see your jeep performing well. That tunnel and story...definitely one of a kind!! Merci
Thank you!
Emoji dude checking in!!🍓❤
Would love to go there someday. 😉👍
Well HOWDY! I hope you guys go... oh and can I request a fresh grown strawberry when they are ready?
