  • Imam Hussain’s Movement and Divine Revelation
▫️ The great movement of Karbala is based on two pillars of mystical witnessing/insight and understanding. The Karbala movement was established by Hussain ibn Ali (peace be upon them) through his Imamate and with the support of his truthful followers; he sought assistance from divine revelation, and his companions sought aid from sound intellect. In the face of this divine movement of Karbala, the Umayyad regime was present, with satanism overseeing the leadership of the Umayyad regime, and the devils undertaking the task of following the Umayyads. On one side was the uprising, rebellion, defiance, and haughtiness, led by Satan, and on the other side was the divine movement led by the infallible Imam and his sincere followers, with intellect and revelation undertaking the Imamate, leadership, and following.
▫️ The more we discuss the course of Master of Martyrs, Sayyid al-Shuhada (peace be upon him), when the truth becomes clearer, falsehood which is against it will also become more evident, and when the intellect becomes clear, either intellectual ignorance or practical ignorance which are against it, will also become clear.
▫️ Hussain ibn Ali, peace be upon him, based on his exalted status of the Caliphate and infallible Imamate, does not undertake any action without (direct or indirect) revelation. What Hussain ibn Ali learned from the Noble Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him and his family) and implemented is based on the revelation of Allah, and what his companions themselves comprehended, they have heard it based on reliable traditional evidence and out of respect to intellect, they gave value to this traditional reason, the intellect takes charge of this part. Therefore, what pertains to the Karbala movement, if it is traced back to Hussain ibn Ali (peace be upon them), it has a revelatory basis, and if it is traced back to the followers of Hussain ibn Ali (peace be upon them), it has an intellectual basis.
▫️ What is related to Hussain ibn Ali (peace be upon them) can be assisted by his own statements, messages, letters, interviews, and ultimately, his way of life and tradition. The Master of Martyrs had a public speech that he would deliver sometimes in Medina, sometimes in Mecca, sometimes on the way between Medina and Mecca, sometimes on the way between Mecca and Karbala, and sometimes in Karbala itself. The essence of these common speeches was that he addressed the people and the society of that time, saying, "Do you not see that the truth is not being practiced, and the falsehood is not being avoided? Do you not agree that the mission of a human being is to uphold the truth and invalidate the falsehood?" Everyone had heard and seen, and were aware of the official programs of the Umayyad government. Hussain ibn Ali, based on that revelation and the mission and responsibility that the Almighty Allah had entrusted to His infallible guardians, felt obligated to revive this truth.
