hey Laurie, just a quick question does cast weight on rods also count towards jigs you drop straight down as well or can you go a bit heaver?

Jay, any good jig rod should have a PE rating so you can select the correct braid and there should also be a jig weight recommendation at the base of the blank.
If you are using jigs on sb rods, I would stick to the ratings written on the rod 👍
