Had this exact bike as my first racing bike. 23" / 58cm. It wasn't stiff and wasn't noodly. It was fairly comfy/relaxed though. The rear triangle is indeed steel, along with the lugs. Wasn't a bad bike for it's era. Basically the frame is epoxied together. To Raleigh's credit, it worked, unlike some of Vitus's attempts which didn't.
Was this the US version of the Dynatech? I have an 1992 alloy lugged bonded to chrome alloy tubes. Very nice bikes and rare now. Weinnman are Swiss I'm sure and nearly every racing bike in the 80s had their brake sets! Nice bike!

I just was given a 480 for free and I love the feel it has when riding.
That flappy, beaky thing on the head badge isn't a swan, it's a heron :)
We use them. Excellent.
I had the Scott Tinley tri lite and a bike shop cracked the frame at the seat post when about 3 years old, now you know!

Aside from the other mistakes Raleigh is pronounced Rally.
No it's not. It's pronounced Rawley, just like he said. I agree though, he's not too swift. What the hell???
