fun video. last year was the first time I was able to go to vidcon since I had kids, moved to portland, and then covid hit, I think the last one I went to before that was 2015? Needless to say last year was a lot different, better organized believe it or not (it was a godsend when they finally came out with a pass level between "already famous" and "there to fangirl over someone famous," though the richest fangirls just have their parents buy them both) but still very messy in other ways. I remember being so disappointed in the exhibit hall...it was a ghost town, there were no small, indie- or grassroots- type booths, just massive corporate sponsors that have nothing to do with online video. And getting the pass was a nightmare....I had decided to splurge on a room at the Hilton (mostly because in the before times, the hilton lobby was where all the networking happened, now it's all sequestered behind "must be this famous to enter" backroom halls...) and tried to go in that entrance to get the pass, but each security guard kept saying "no, go left," over and over...I ended up having to walk almost a full mile to finally find the front of the line?? If they had just said "the entrance is by the waterfall" that would have made so much more sense?! Anyway, thanks for reminiscing, I agree Tiktok was a horrible sponsor, I have my issues with CZcams but Tiktok is a whole different beast. Sounds like you had a good time for the msot part!
