(Aussie here) This is the weirdest timeline... Becoming totally invested in Celtic's fortunes, while watching Hamish bring out the Socceroos colours. Long may it continue.
It's scary how bang-on Vince was back in June. He already knew what we were all about to find out. He described & Ange and his ways down to a tee.
Vince is one of my favourite football commentators/media personalities in Australia. He has an amazing football IQ and I've always loved his opinions and narratives.
It’s a funny one aye. Almost anyone in Australia that followed soccer could tell you the same things he did. Ange is a true enigma and is greatly under appreciated by world football.
@@foxtelremote Vince is a great guy and he is spot on about Ange. But he would not be offended by me saying all long term Ange fans were saying the same thing. 👍
@@glennmaillard9076 definitely agree, that’s what I meant by my previous comment.
@@foxtelremote Yep. Just agreeing with you 100%.👍
Vince calmed us all. I remember too thinking who is this guy. I looked for people who knew him and watched the first interview with Vince and was convinced we may have found a diamond and by fuck he is. I hope he stays with us for at least four years. Thanks Vince and you too Hamish for sourcing Vince to get us off the Valium.
Great to see Vince back how much sense he speaks every time he's on🤔👏👏👏🇮🇪
Thank you from his mum.
Vince "Nostradamus" Rugari.
Legend!
Another good interview Hamish. I think when Celtic come to Sydney, you should come down and do a live 67HH show in Sydney. Get on Vince, Harps, Scott McD. That would be a good show.
With us in the background. :-)
I'm sure Hamish would take a holiday to Australia for the good of the channel 😆
I think it's a must that Celtic do a tour here down under. I think you guys would be blown away by the support , and of course would only add more Hoops fans down under. Celtic and Ange. Scotland and Australia , just a great combination.
@@tomblack6965 Celtic are going to Australia during the winter break for the Sydney Cup which is kinda a time down under technically
Great vid Hamish and a big thanks to Vince for giving his time to let us get an insight into Ange (the king of Scotland) Postecoglou ☘️👍🏻HH Bhoys
Love the insight Vince brings in these interviews. Can't wait for the next one! 🍀👍
Go Hamish! Love the shirt 👍
As a Melbournian with a scottish mother whose entire family support Celtic, I can say there has been strong local support because you have a fantastic coach. Sad Rogic has gone as you are about to enter a golden era. Hail Hail...love this podcast and I think Celtic will surprise many in the champions league...
Wearing the Australian kit during the interview will ensure you will never go thirsty when you come down under Hamish!
I was more happy for the Australian national team than I was for Scotland today
And during this year, we Aussies were watching more Celtic than our local league or Socceroos, although yesterday was all Socceroos for the WC.
Mad how quick that year how gone, Vince called it to a tee.
Vince is dead right about Chile game in confeds cup, you want to see Ange ball at its highest level, that socceroos game is the template. Was scintillating to watch.
Top lad Vince
I love this channel brother
Loved all of Vince's videos!
Vince is just a great guy.....Hail Hail. Ange Postecoglou........
Great round 3 interview the big VR. I liked your question Hamish on Ange and in his tenure and if his message weakens. Vince’s answer was really good.. it’s only been seen at national level and for me it was all to do with the media messaging around his team. He switched to a back 3 and we didn’t adapt as quickly as he would have liked. From there the landslide of media stupidity couldn’t be stopped.. my biggest concern for him at Celtic is if the media get on his back and starts to gets fans agreeing with them. Think he would plan his exit after that started. But 4 years and out of a champs league group would be his new minimum expectation I think. Keep smashing it Hamish
In some ways it’s harder to coach a national team because you can’t buy players and you don’t see them all the time. They come from all parts of the world and you have to get them together in a short space of time. He did a great job with Australia but didn’t have the backing he needed to take them further.
As Vince says he is rated highly as a coach
He was on the selection panel for a new head coach for the AFL team that he supported.
That’s how highly he and his ethos on coaching is held in high regards across the sporting landscape
Hail Hail
This is one of the things that sets Ange apart from too many in the Oz football community. He has no chip on his shoulder. He loves his sport. He promotes his sport. His teams play like any AFL or NRL fan would love their team to play. He has friends among the broader sporting fraternity. He believes football in Oz will only grow if fans back their sport by putting bums on seats and forget the forelock tugging to Europe. It’s not disrespecting Europe it’s about respecting our game. Ange respects our game and people like him make it grow. Fans who back our game make it grow. Don’t leave it to the powers that be. Bums on seats, stop bagging our own, or whinging in envy about the success of other codes. Make it fan built.
👍
Aussie Rules or Fumble Ball as it is more accurately described, is the cancer of Australian sport.
It’s criminal how thousands of our elite athletes are consumed by AFL. It sucks the life out of Australia’s international sport competitiveness. It is a cancerous tumour. Chemotherapy is what it needs dosing with.
Every four years when we qualify for a World Cup, the groan from the AFL head office can be heard throughout the country. They have zero time for Australian football success.
@@iandunn9497 Yep. Exactly the kind of football fan I was describing. 👍
@@iandunn9497 the new young journalists are very interested in real football, yes AFL is the unique Australian sport but Football ⚽️ has the highest participation rates of all codes
@@francoitalia5190 Yep, high participation rates. Certainly at little kids level. I'd be interested to look at the 12-20 age groups across the codes, that's when the elite players are identified.
As well as the little kids, Football numbers also are huge at the 20-50yrs age groups.
I just bitch about AFL because they are such elite athletes that I'd far prefer to see playing any of our international sports.
"It's just nice we can share things across borders, across countries like this..." word up!
Well done Australia 🇦🇺 hail hail 🍻🍀🇨🇮
Love your channel Hamish. Anther Australian who is rooting for Celtic (go the Hoops!) and Ange. I’m watching more CZcams stuff on Celtic than I’m watching on Australian Football League. Keep up the good work
Martin Boyle, Harry Souttar, Jackson Irvine, Jamie Maclaren were all eligible to play for Scotland.
The two "genuine" Scottish Aussies (Boyle, Souttar) have both been immense for us and I can't believe you guys in Scotland missed out on these two gems!
Boyle is a gem. A little Aussie battler. An excitable little terrier. We love him.
Top job. Nice to see Vince again. He certainly called it correctly!
Nice one Hamish..... Great guest. Vince knows his stuff... And seems like a great bloke to boot. Congratulations to the Australian men's team reaching the finals. I'll be cheering them on. HH🍀💚🏴🇮🇪🇦🇺
very happy thankyou hamish!!
Cheers Hamish and Vince well done bhoys . I don't think Ange would be bring in Harry Kewell if he didn't think HD had something to offer
Awesome interview Hamish.
Magic ✊🤘
Love the Jersey Hamish 🇭🇲
Binged watched!!
Every second of every Celtic game last season from the Gold Coast and the Ange effect is unreal!
X 10 in comparison to what he achieved and at Brisbane Roar and how he changed oz football forever!!
Another streightalkin aussie guy 🍀😎
AU v Chile was incredible. I will never understand how such an average bunch of players could boss a world class team. Ange is incredible.
Comes across as a real top bloke as well
Hope Ange never leaves
Brilliant
Harry will ensure the players are putting in 110% a training - he will also be integral in the further development of young wingers Abada, Jota etc - we know Ange's gameplan is to isolate wingers 1 on 1 with their respective defenders - the appointment of Harry will sharpen the diamond tips in attack. Exciting, cant wait!
Super watch again 👏🏻 well done to Australia 🇦🇺 and congrats and good luck for the big day vince .. I thought I was mad saying I couldn’t think of 15 coaches in world football just now better than Ange but seems it wasn’t just the drink speaking If you are saying too 20 in world football 😂
Hail hail vince 🍺🥃👍🏻
Happy days for football Down Under.
Someone tweet this and tag Qantas - should give him and his wife a honeymoon ticket to somewhere. Congrats Vince (and well done Hamish)
Done👍HH 🍀💚
I think what got the Socceroos through was the replacement of 3 of the back 4, which many fans had been pleading for since about half way through the home and away matches. Playing Barcelona in a friendly possibly played a part too as Xavi praised Kye Rowles performance. I doubt that Bailey Wright would have risked playing if Sunderland's season hadn't completed. Nat Atkinson was another inclusion, who I doubt would have got a game but for joining Hearts. Another Aussie, u-23 Lewis Miller has joined Hibs. 6'2" RB, I'd put him up front as he is a GG in the making. It will be very interesting to see if Ange will play the same tactics in the CL and how they stand up .
Hey Hamish, could you get on Con Boutsianis or Paul Trimboli on the show? Both have links to Sth Melbourne and Ange and two of the best players never to play in Europe.
I fell out with my best mate for 3 months about ange... at least he admitted he was wrong 😂😂😂
Going to be harder this season to replicate the success. Ange is not the complete unknown from last season and teams know what to expect. As ever good recruitment is key. Definition of success for this season is another SPL title win and a few wins in knockout rounds in the Europa League after Christmas.
Adelaide is half an hour behind Sydney, Hamish. So it's not you being confused. It's just Vince being at his Dad's place!
The thing about Ange is that what you see is exactly what he is.
Players and fans buy in because he honestly believes in what he says.
I'm interested to see if Australia is now considered a football nation after this year.
He is at the top!! Celtic vs The Rangers CL final. 7-1 Willie Fernie Hatrick 🇮🇪🇵🇸🇻🇦
On the face of it, it's maybe a step up in terms of coaching. Harry Kewell knows all about improvement for the champions league from his time at Leeds, so I'm quite optimistic... HH💚🍀⭐
The challenge for long term Ange fans has always been the European Cup. An Ange team playing the best and not making a backward step, win, lose or draw. It’s never been about honourable losses, worthy draws or lucky wins. An attitude. 3 nil losses having an absolute crack and not back to the walls underdog flukey wins. If you can fluke one win then you can grasp more wins by going for the throat. Front foot. Remembering, of course, it’s a program with Ange, not we’ll do our best each game. It’s do your best every minute you’re on the training pitch and in every minute you’re on the pitch in a game. And never forgetting Ange aims for champion teams not teams of champions. Bring it on, win, lose or draw.
Even if he never becomes a great manager, surely Harry can offer some valuable coaching to Cetlic's young wingers like Jota and Abada etc.
Ange has the Champion's Cup in the trophy cabinet...it's a case of collective reality catching up.
If Ange can win 2 trophies with the budget and players he has, what do you think he could do with the budget and recourses of someone like a Man City, United or an Arsenal. Bring on the treble 2022/23 Good times a head with BIG Ange!!
Well done to Australia > But hey Vince has his rangers colours oan :( Seriously i feel Ange shall stay a few more yrs and if Man utd are say still not doing so good , then Ange he shall become their next manager my thoughts .
But hope he does really well with Celtic fc < for me the no1 team in the UK as a whole . As fir Mark Viduka at celtic he was a good striker i recall anyhow just soon know what players we shall bring in after Jota and i feel Jota is a must as guys a class footballer . But im sure most of Celtic fans know what positions need made stronger for Europe ahead .
Those GK tactics aren't new
Bruce Grobellar was doin this decades ago
Dudek done against ac milan too based off grobbelar
You may be right.... but subbing off your captain to bring on a player who employs those unconventional tactics, and who is a player with no established reputation, in a moment when a WC spot on the line, and with a coach who had faced nothing but criticism since taking the job .... is all very new. The coach put the whole nation on the roulette table and won.
I'm not too worried about ange leaving after three years. He admitted himself that he's always wanted to be somewhere in Europe , where football was the number one sport.
Let's cherish ange and enjoy the champions league HH 🍀
What Aus in the world cup again...wow Aussies good enough on world stage..who would of thought...
Congratulations to Australia going to the World Cup 🇦🇺🇦🇺
I think Vince might be wrong about Ange leaving in a season or two unless he really does something special in Europe in that time, I hope so anyway
Postecoglou will leave eventually but I hope his plan is to put Celtic back to its best in every arena (including Europe), a couple of good run in Europe would really be the icing on the cake for us. He could be a legend at our club and could become a great but I'm biased.
Sevco fans will be gutted tonight with their beloved Englund getting pumped. Haha 🏴🇮🇪☘⚽️🇮🇪🏴
Ange took budget players and got Socceroos to scare the daylights out of giant soccer nations. Even after a nigtmare start, bar JJ and perhaps Daizen/Kyogo as national starters, he got Celtic to a team of many internationals. Imagine what is possible at Celtic once he completes the transformation. The man has an eye for players as well as coaches. His involvement on his AFL team's coach selection panel changed their fortunes and ditto Kevin Muscat at Yohohama. Might take another year or two for CL triumph. Ange will not settle for 2nds. Enjoy the ride until he goes.
A bit put off by this only staying a year or 2 talk,…I’m hoping for another 4/5 if things carry on like they have been, tad negative,…a mid range epl side surely won’t be enough to tempt him
Too much chat about about Ange leaving for me
I respectfully disagree with Vince in a couple of areas as a Brisbane fan. Firstly, Brisbane was very successful for 3-4 years after Ange left. And this was entirely due to the players he brought in, and the tactics he implemented. I think the channel should talk to knowledgeable Brisbane FC people, specifically about Anges second year. I watched every game under Ange, and in the second year, you can expect the football game to look like a math equation. When his players get to the final third, he will make sure they choose a certain option every time. As in, they will play the ball along the ground to the front post. If this option isn't available, they will cut it back to the edge of the box. If this isn't available, they will put in a cross on the penalty spot. And this might sound funny, but they will do this until the ball is in the back of the net. Celtic will become way better in the 2nd year at finishing chances, and way better at playing that final ball. Also, under Ange, Brisbane played a lot better in the Asian champions league. In our first year, we played very good football but basically lost every game. The second year, we did very well football and results whise. Ange will expect celtic to match it with the big teams in Europe, and if they don't, he won't care, he will coach the team to beat them the following year. He will play aggressive football until his team can beat the best. Which means you will have some heartbreaking losses, but some incredible victories.
Harry has mixed up with some dodgy club owners
"Yes and no, I called it, not you admittedly, none of you wanted to hear it"
Vince, respect you. But geaz peace, don't say the Celtic support, which is in the millions, didn't want to hear it, fae day dot we were behind Ange, so don't make it sound like 'A telt you so' and we said 'Shite' when I reality, Celtic support backed Ange, and still do, as we do with all employees who are fortunate to be employed under the green clover!... I we might not have known Ange, but to say we didn't want to know, is disrespectful to the Celtic fan base as a whole. Wind yer neck in.
