- Installation of OEM USB HUB in Volkswagen Golf MK7 with MIB2 Discover Media system (MST2 by Technisat). Hits hub features MFI chip which allows it to use not only AndroidAuto and MirrorLink but also CarPlay - without the 5Q0035726E long green USB port. HUB features 3 USB connections, 2 of which are available as media playback sources, and 3rd one is for other accessories like D-Link DUB-E100, any AndroidAuto device, USB storage with maps (if CID lock is removed).
ℹ️ Installation required adding fuse to the cabin fusebox, replacing the 5Q0035726E USB port with standard one, repining HSD (High Speed Data) fakra connector, changing coding and adaptation values of the MIB2 Main Unit (0x5F).

Good job! this is what i also want to do, but i think about connect to one of the usb a wifi (inside). Do you think it can work? for example car play by wifi (my device doesnt have an wifi but i think everything is only about install supported drivers on linux)

hi, could you please help me about something, i would like to upgrade my Golf Mk7 MIB1 to MIB2 or 2.5, the idea is to change the brain unit and the screen so i am able to add later rear view camera with turning lines and a good resolution on a logo flip
could you please tell me the parts numbers i would need for the screen and the brain unit and also if wiring changes would be needed?
i am aware i will have to make some coding but my first stage is to get the parts and learn as much as i can before installing them

Did you say Carplay requires the advanced USB connection, but Android Auto doesnt?
I was thinking of fitting this hub to allow me to install a hidden wireless AA/Carplay device, but still be able to connect via a cable if i wanted to. My partner prefers to plug in but I don't. Sounds like it wouldn't work?
Not a bad idea actually to get best of both worlds since VAG was too stingey to implement it even in the 2020 model golf when wireless AA and car play were definitely already available because they are on an aftermarket head unit I own from Kenwood

Hi, In my Passat B8 i have two USB ports from factory. After unlock of AppConnect I can use just one usb for AppConnect (CarPlay). I have done coding and adaptation as described. I guess I have the usb hub from factory, so maybe it is different version? Do you think that If i would connect the second usb port to a different port on the hub, i will be able to use it for carplay? The usb what is working is in front cubby under the climatronic, the second usb is in the armrest compartment, i want to put a carlinkit in the armrest, and have usb in front free. Can you help me? Thank you.
You should try to mod the new VW Type C port with this hub.

Have you also replacede the cable between the hub and the MIB? After the hub installation carplay dosent works and I have static fault U11B800 in 5F! Someone say that I need to replace the cable with ha straight one and not HSD!
Hi, which color is USB 1 and which USB 2 now. You explain it in part 1, but as you tested in part 2, it seemed to be the other way around. Is it like described in part 1 or is it mixed up? Thank you.

AFAIK, generation MIB2 and MIB2.5 does not support USB-C ports.
Can you Play music Form the usb Stick and use CarPlay at the Same time?

Hi! I was planning to upgrade from 6.5 to 8.0. But I wanted to old, prefacelift display from Discover Pro. Was hoping for a good deal on used one (still looking) + the console frame that goes with it.
@@mrfixpl I hvae a 8 inch display with buttons i think that you can have for free but i think its cracked not to sure i can find it and test it, how about virtual cockpit are you planning to retrofit that?

2 more things before I start the fitting today:
1. Can the CP removal be done after fitting?
2. If the fitting goes wrong prior to any code changes, can you put back the old unit or will it no longer work?
1. CP can by bypassed (unit will be fully functional; there will be CP fault stored in vehicle). If you want actual removal, you need dealer-level tools and online connection to VW.
2. I believe you can.

1. I fitted them without removing the battery (Just key out)
2. re-fitted the old unit, no issues
I've ordered OBDeleven and an SD card so I can patch it and personalise to the car tomorrow 👍

Which unit you have? Check SW Train in hidden menu if it starts with MHI2

5V comes from MIB main unit. Previously it was powering the single USB port. Now it will trigger the HUB.
@@mrfixpl Can I get from quadlock port or just cut the cable from old usb port? I think that on quadlock exist +5V?
