My jaw dropped when I heard this the other day and I can’t stop listening to it. The Papa Roach version was rebellious and this version brought out the emotional side to it. Ronnie is a musical God
but the lyrics are the same, how can you hear the original and hear him talk about being suicidal and not see the song as emotional? just because it doesn't sound emotional instrumentally means nothing whatsoever, you hear the lyrics and you automatically see how vulnerable the original is, it's very ignorant to say it's not emotional just because of how it sounds
So weird bc I knew the lyrics, but I didn't really understand how emotional the lyrics actually were until I heard this version... I liked the old version bc how aggressive it was, but this new versions bring a whole other light on it.

Because delivery and tone can make you interpret something differently. Papa Roaches version is very aggressive and upbeat both vocally and through the instrumentation, which makes it very easy to not hone in on the lyrics completely as you're too busy jamming with the best. Ronnie's version however is more vocally driven with a more sparse orchestral sound, which gives full focus to the lyrics themselves as there's not really anything else there to distract you. You have no choice but to listen to and analyze the lyrics.
Fun fact Jacoby from Papa Roach is actually a huge inspiration to Ronnie and is the reason he does his music the way he does so I think he did this to show Jacoby how much he meant to him
In my opinion the original was an angry teenager that was mad at the world around them and FIR's version is an adult screaming for help from the world!!!! Absolutely a great cover of this song...

This cover is so hauntingly beautiful. I got chills watching this at the same time you got chills in the video. Now I have 6 songs that I consider as the greatest cover songs now: Disturbed’s cover of The Sound of Silence, Primus’ cover and of The Devil Went Down to Georgia, Korn’s cover of Another Brick In The Wall, Bad Wolves’ cover of Zombie, Aurelio Voltaire’s cover of Hallelujah, and this cover of Last Resort.

“Live From The Unknown” was a two night online concert event they did. Ronnie said that it may become available on Amazon Prime when he was live on Twitch. It hasn’t yet. I keep checking because I did pay to “attend” both nights but would love to own a copy because it was awesome.

I can tell just how powerful this song is. I've watched a bunch of reactors to it and so far most of them end up almost speechless the entire time. Most songs are full of pauses and commentary, but even the most boisterous reactors sit there with obvious chills. It demonstrates not only how skilled Falling In Reverse is as a band but also why the original is such a classic, iconic song even to this day.

falling in reverse isn't a band tho, and it hasn't been for a while, ronnie has people play different instruments at shows and for videos, but it's all ronnie behind the scenes, some people helping with production here and there, but he makes the songs fully himself, it's not a band
There are times when covers aren't even covers anymore... Like, sure, it's a cover in the technical term... but this is a totally different take. Poppa Roach's version focused on more the anger, and had that type of energy. This was like you said, that soul crushing sadness, yet hauntingly beautiful at the same time.
Falling in Reverse is becoming a top band for me to listen to. I've loved everything I've heard from them thus far.

I legit cried when I heard this. I loved the original but this reimagining puts the lyrics at the forefront and I never actually paid attention to the how deeply painful the message was. As someone who has struggled with suicidal thoughts many times in my life, this hit me on a whole level I wasn’t ready for.

Ronnie and his amazing team produced to the epic papa Roach, but ronnie absolutely turned this into a beautiful masterpiece. The true story of this song is so heartbreaking, but it also saved so many lives

Okay WTF Ronnie! First he does this with his own songs, now he's covering other bands songs and doing the same thing? Anyway this song HIT/SMACKED me HARD, the lyrics are so hauntingly beautiful and relatable I've been really struggling with depression for the last few weeks now. The last couple of days have been the worst, I've NEVER thought about taking my own life or cut myself and I NEVER would. BUT this song is depression/anxiety in a nutshell, the raw emotion in Ronnie's voice is insane. You can feel it in your soul literally OMG! I'd LOVE to see Falling in Reverse live, I'd lose my voice screaming the lyrics to all the songs they played. Popular Monster would make me have zero voice cause I'd scream the lyrics to that song so loud, I'd bawl my eyes out too, and if they played this song I'd cry harder.

Try Gin and Juice by The Gourds. It is a great cover that is just different.
Papa Roach will make you headbang to it. This gives the lyrics more of a meaning to it. Do artists need to ask for permission to do sing it?

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND "Tom Traubert's Blues (4 Sheets to the Wind in Copenhagen)" by Tom Waits (Also known as "Waltzing Matilda"). His voice is so unique that one critic once described it as though "it was soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months and then taken outside & run over with a car"! Falling in Reverse can’t get awards because Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus, the lyrical fucking GENIUSES of our time, are killing it with “I can buy myself flowers” and just HITS like that.
I hate people…sometimes. No, a lot of times. Or maybe it’s just pop culture. The major awards are Pop Culture awards. They should just come out and say that shit because it’s asinine that Ronnie hasn’t even been mentioned. He wraps the emotions of a 2 hour movie into a 4 second music video.
