LEON REPRESENTS A BEAUTIFUL DIVINE PROTECTOR ....SOMEONE DEVOTED .....SOMEONE WHO CAN LOVE .....SOMEONE WHO IS WILLING TO DIE FOR SOMEONE THEY LOVE !!!!
@Roy G Biv he had thousands of chances to sleep with her, and he didn't. I agree that she shouldn't have learned how to kill, but he wanted her to protect herself in case she was in danger and she was whenever she was with him.
Love and caring without sex. A concept people can barely wrap their minds around today. The character Natalie Portman’s character brought up sex in the most innocent understandable for her age way brought on by her horrible life environment of no guidance whatsoever. Those of you who see this as anything else need to get their mind out of the gutter. We should all strive to have this kind of love and devotion BEFORE you even enter into the sexual component of a relationship. Gary Oldman, Jean Reno, Natalie Portman all just..... stunning. The filming shots the music choice and placement are all done perfectly.
The relationship between Mathilda and Leon is as visceral as any adult relationship but without the overt acts; theirs is a relationship which transcends the overt. KDM
After watching this movie I really had a dream that Leon was alive and ran off with Matilda the movie didn't give me a happy ending so my subconscious did truly one of the best movies ever😭

Leon is such a beautiful and heartrending film... one of my absolute favourites! I adore Jean Reno and Natalie Portman's performances in it; so well acted/emoted, (plus I adore psychotic Gary Oldman as Stansfield!) It's one of my favourite films of all time beyond question, with such a lovely (though heartbreaking) story!

I don't think Leon sees Matilda only as a "daughter". He's only old but his mental age is stuck at teenage. So it makes sense if he falls for Matilda. Their emotional and mental state is just the same that's why when they talk, its like they're of the same age...

You are not the only one. I thing of God every time I see a good father figure or someone who makes sacrifice for the ones he loves. Be blessed, and know that you are loved and precious. He really wants you to spend more time with Him, and have a personal relationship with Him. He truly is the Father you always wanted. Seek Him with all of your heart. And you will find Him

Leon is such a strong character with a heart of gold and it's so adorable to see his kind of strong and preserved nature be disturbed when Mathilda says "cute name" he chocks on his milk and feels uncomfortable, as he does whenever she makes any kind of romantic gesture or comment toward him, it conflicts his moral stance as he is met with temptation if only for a fleeting moment before he re-balances.
