This song is an eternal golden hit, I still love it after all these years, I'm almost 54 yo but my ears are 17 years old ; I miss your 80's haircut Nik !
I'm 66 now but I missed a lot of eighties music due to working and poor health but caught up later and so glad I did. I loved Nick's singles and his appearance at Live Aid. ☮️☮️👍👍😁😁🎸🎸🏴🏴🏴🏴
Ok so I'm gonna say this, as my daughter tells me, i'm an ageing '80s child..But seriously, How f..kin good does this guy still sound? The talent in the '80s, singer song writers who still sound as good today as they did then...legend :) Thanks for posting this, put a huge smile on my face
Music coming form a genius , he was way ahead of his time. I've been a Nik fan since 1984 , been there ever since, The best music in the world you'll never find in the commercial charts today , unlike 30 + years ago . But just search for it , and you'll find it. The songs that really touches your heart is out there.
What a wonderful take on his own tune. And that Norwegian house band for whatever that show is are such impressive, all-around musicians - thank you SO much for posting this!
OMG! So so good to see Nik in action after so long and he's still got it. His music beats a lot of the recent rubbish from the last few years. Thanks you for posting!!
ONCE A YEAR I HAVE A NIK KERSHAW DAY…YOUR HARMONIES AND MELODIES LIFT MY HEART AND MAKE THE DAY BRIGHTER. THANK YOU JESUS CHRIST FOR NIK KERSHAWS MUSIC.
This is hands down the best live-version of this tune! Nik sounds awesome as always, BUT the band NAILS it! Even the trombone player nails the backing vocals. Awesome!
This song is the song that got me through some very rough times in my life..... I felt like somebody finally understood my pain. Nik, I love you! When will you tour the US. We need you here dude.
What an excellent performance!!! I always knew there was something special to Nik's writing when I was listening to his hits during the 80's. A great musician and songwriter who has got me feeling all nostalgic for my teens again.
The early 80's was just the best time, great artists, great songs, great singers, they were difficult songs to sing ,shows how talented they all were, rock on the 80's .
You are so right. I was living in a rat infested apartment when this song came out and it helped pull me thru. Fantastic sound and he looks sincere at his message. I will spread it on my CZcams and Facebook account.
Quality is permanent. Thank you once again Nik for the joy you have brought to so many people for so many years. 'So Quiet' is still my favourite, closely followed by 'You Might'.
How did he ever get a drummer like Vinnie Colaiuta back in the 80's to play with him? It is like having Bill gate or Steve Job selling computers at a retail store. That certainly raised his reputation in the sheer musical level. I used to think he was nothing but a "one-hit wonder" artist. Now I listen very carefully of his music. Thanx for posting.
Hands down, one of my favorite all time videos of a live show, a great song to begin with, and then a hugely talented backing band. The icing and cherry on top of this cake is the surprise of just an awesome horn section, that easily elevates the music/song and video to an 11 as a highly enjoyable audio experience for the ears and mind.
I'm not normally a fan of live versions of songs that I really like, but i this case, I'll make an exception. They did an absolutely outstanding job of making the song sound like the studio version, and the band was really on top of its game. Oh, and Kershaw did pretty well too (LOL just kidding; he was outstanding!).
Paradoxically this meant a lot to all of us, in deeply personal yet completely different ways. I think that since it didn't lock us down to one interpretation, we all found ways to fit it into our own lives. From conversations I've had with people I knew back when I was a teen, the people we envied were usually just as fucked up as we were... sometimes they even envied us. Feeling 'different' turned out to be the one thing we all had in common. Sincerely yours, The Breakfast Club ;)
The set design is very beautiful and is perfect for the song ... his voice and singing remains as amazing as it was many years ago (cry tears of joy its true) .. that 80s vibe is wonderful throughout ..
Real horns were not something you heard much of in the '80s in pop-rock, and it was so refreshing. To hear it live with real horns is incredible - beats the hell out of the synthesized Live Aid performance. Proud to say that tho the song was not a significant hit here in the USA, it is without a doubt my favorite song of the entire 1980s. Fantastic bitter lyric set to a bright catchy tune - my favorite combo!
1 mill views! Thanks guys!!👏💜
Ladykershaw 1 million and 1 views now and many more, thanx for sharing this, I grew up listening to this mans songs, he's brilliant.
Nice to see he is still going strong on the internet 👏💜

OMG Nick Kereshaw looking as old as I am and still sounding so good.....keep rocking Nick,,,there are a still a few of us 80's fans out there
One of the real gems to come out of the 80s. So tasteful and well crafted. And superb live.
Almost 2023 and I can't leave this video alone!
I met my wife in a pub when this song was sounded
I loved Nik in the 80s and his voice is exactly the same... he truly rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep coming back to this video for even more smiles. :-)
One of the greatest most under-rated singer/songwriter of all time !
How refreshing to see how good Nik looks and that he can still sing!
Such a great song and he performed it perfectly live.
Possibly my favourite song ever?
I hear ya. It is a perfect tune! And I LOVE his mohawk!!!
Glad to know you're straight lol cheers!
It's in my top five, for sure.
Nik Kershaw did the original recording in 1984.
Awesome! One of my favorites and this powerformance was fab.
Music coming form a genius , he was way ahead of his time.

Fantastic song from the eighties. Such a talented guy still going strong.
I love how Norway dig this classic. It is so much better this time around.
Norway is a cool country.
Man what a song and performance. This was one of my favorite songs, just a masterpiece of emotion and insight.
The one thing nik is he is a great lyricist ,if you read the lyrics to the songs you appreciate just how clever he is with words.Another 80s icon.
This is a real musician. I always loved this beautiful song with magic trumpets instrumental. Wouldnt it be good....forever song
What a wonderful take on his own tune. And that Norwegian house band for whatever that show is are such impressive, all-around musicians - thank you SO much for posting this!
80's song?...song still kicks ass in 2017!!
Who am I to disagree ? :-)
I most certainly do subscribe to this point of view :-)

Nik totally nailed this live and the backing band totally nailed it too... I hate the word ‘awesome’ but this was a truly Awesome performance.
Can't get enough of this song, even after so many years. Also, the band really nails it. Timeless music.
ONCE A YEAR I HAVE A NIK KERSHAW DAY…YOUR HARMONIES AND MELODIES LIFT MY HEART AND MAKE THE DAY BRIGHTER. THANK YOU JESUS CHRIST FOR NIK KERSHAWS MUSIC.
Wes Curry, tell me the time the day and the place and I'm there ( Does it matter if I'm not religious?)
@@carrhartt2424 hey i have a Nick day too you should come to it. i am not as religious as the other guy. i mean a little but not as bad
Dont be sad you think jesus christ made that music lol
I totally get it and understand. Tired of living in this world and I'm tired of fighting even I know I should. I don't want to be here no more.
How are you doing? I think the same as you, hope you feel a bit better at least
Fantastic song, great performance. The backing brass was a surprise hit.
I completely agree...There are no words to describe how prolific a writer Nik is and was. The Mozart of Pop/Rock.
This is hands down the best live-version of this tune! Nik sounds awesome as always, BUT the band NAILS it! Even the trombone player nails the backing vocals. Awesome!
Brilliant. Wouldn't it be good to be able to sing with this band! I love the bass line - what a cool bunch of guys.
This song is the song that got me through some very rough times in my life..... I felt like somebody finally understood my pain. Nik, I love you! When will you tour the US. We need you here dude.

Quite a solid performance. I'm impressed. Not even a Nick Kershaw fan. Just here because I liked this song when I was young.
Exactly the same as me. Well said.
You like this song now that you're old/older now, too. ;-)
Same from GTA Vice CITY STORIES 😃
@@luvyesmusici4886 O.k. I do. Still a bit in denial.
He still sounds as good as ever, Keep going Nik you're a legend
This is a very underrated song. Always liked it.
I love this live performance, it's wat I imagined
This song is absolutely a rock masterpiece gem of our time..
As good as it gets for a live performance from a past performer coming back. Loved it!
I was around 10, when this song came out on radio. Life was, ah, great ..... 😁
me too
This is one of my all time favorite songs! It still makes me smile after all these years! This is also a top notch live performance!!
I thought this song was amazing in the 80s. This kicks even more ass. Live horns and handclaps? What a great, sympathetic band!
This really is a superb live version, I keep watching it. The horns are great.
The early 80's was just the best time, great artists, great songs, great singers, they were difficult songs to sing ,shows how talented they all were, rock on the 80's .
This is my favorite version of the song, his voice is better here better then when he was younger!!
Love Nik Kershaw... what a legend!👌👌👌

Nik hasn't missed a beat in all these years. Awesome.
Still a wonderful song, even better performed than in 80's with a mature voice!
Quality is permanent. Thank you once again Nik for the joy you have brought to so many people for so many years. 'So Quiet' is still my favourite, closely followed by 'You Might'.
The Riddle!❤
It's rare when the live version lives up to, if not surpasses the studio cut... this is one of those times.
How did he ever get a drummer like Vinnie Colaiuta back in the 80's to play with him? It is like having Bill gate or Steve Job selling computers at a retail store. 100%live! No doubt. I'm so surprised. So clean, so good quality... Realy good job!
He's even better than in the 80's. Love this song & just listened to the earlier version. :) Those 80's had the best music!!
i got chills , great sound... one of my favorite songs ever!!! better in live

After 30 years not many singers can sound so close to the original studio version. Very good... you still great Nik
A little masterpiece....... full of the atmophera of a time of magic and happyness... 🌟🎉🌟🎉🌟🎉🌟🎉
Best live performance I have heard. Better and cooler than 20 years ago.
Me encanta esta canción y los 80 fueron lo máximo y no se comparan con la música actual es mi humilde opinión
Verdad
This version and his performance from Live Aid are my two favorites of this song! Simply Awesome!!
Nik, one of the best of the 80's, still have it!
I really like this song even when i was just 5 years old
when it became a hit.
I'm saying goodbye to a friend I can no longer be with....I sent her this.
He still sounds as fresh as back in the day, and it's still a tune to kill for. Marvellous!
it's always fun to see 80's artists today (or, at least, fairly recently) and how different they look. i've always loved this song.
nick kershaw is extremely talented. His voice and band sound amazing, especially playing live in 2008.
I'm not normally a fan of live versions of songs that I really like, but i this case, I'll make an exception. They did an absolutely outstanding job of making the song sound like the studio version, and the band was really on top of its game.

What a performance!!... so smooth and clear.
He definetly GOT it! As an real Nik's fan I dare to say that he's better now than then.. what a sound and vocal form!
The best
One of the best songs of the eighties. All time favourite!
One of my favorite songs from the 80's.
When the horn section in the middle sets in it always gives me goosebumps
God Bless NIK!!!! It's wouldn't be the 80's without NIK!!!!

You've got it bad, you don't know how bad you've got it :) One of my heroes growing up in Western Norway in the 80's. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome sounding song ! Nick sings great too ! Well done guys !
Absolute monster of a tune. Takes me all the way back to childhood every time.
Well done Nick. Employed a real Horn section on this great composition. Live!!!! Amazing to see Artists using musicians live for once. Good on ya son.
The 1980s was the best decade I ever had. This song takes me back to my teens. Too bad we don't have great jams in the 21st century.
