Today showed me the power of hyper fixation. I've been trying for weeks to figure out how to test stream with OBS because my computer can't handle streamlabs. The video I saw (and the article I was reading) all talked about "stream key". I was SO FOCUSED on this stream key thing, that up until THIS VIDEO TELLING ME, I didn't even see the "test stream" button in OBS 😅🤦🏻 thank you good sir, for being a hero to a complete idiot like myself

If you use stream elements you can test alerts. Wish there was a option to actually go live to test stuff but show offline. But have only me and my mods be able to see it.

My stream says it’s offline but I’m LIVE. There in no online offline switch mode in my settings like other people.

Nothing better than using a dummy account honestly. Especially if you use certain twitch overlays that send information to your obs as you cant test them unless you are live. One such example is the heat overlay that allows for your viewers to actually interact directly with the video to make obs do things.

These methods never worked for me. I could not see any data on the Twitch tool.
how do you fix the brightness on obs?
Is your stream looking dark? Settings - Advanced, set color format to NV12, Color Space to 709 and Color range to Partial. You can add a color correction filter to your cam and/or gameplay too to change brightness etc.
Or you may just have it in system mode you can go into your settings in general and change your theme to dark.

How can you stream in OBS to an external recording devise without an Internet connection?

Don’t know much, but could you test alerts and other stuff with the recording feature in OBS?
You can, but recording isn’t really the same stress on a machine as streaming. In fact it could be more or less depending how you have your recording set up.
So Twitch seems to be downgraded in the past years. I know for sure, we were able to start a test stream and watch from one of Twitch account/stream settings panel.

It is the dumbest thing on earth that we cannot test channel point redeems while doing this. I fucking hate Twitch.
I followed all your directions and double checked it was right but for some reason the Inspector website shows me offline. I refreshed the browser, tried another browser and closed my OBS multiple times. Do you know how I could fix it? Thanks!!
