DISCOVER KUALA PERLIS / A TOWN IS BEING PAINTED / MALAYSIA TRAVEL VLOG / PERLIS TOURISM / KAMPUNG

- We went out to discover Kuala Perlis and the surround villages (kampungs) that belong to the town. There is a lot going on at the moment - for example: They are painting a big part of Kuala Parlis, meaning on "the island". A great initiative by the Royal Family of Perlis who is collaborating with the government and various agencies. I do think, however, that Kuala Perlis is the most underrated town I have ever visited in Malaysia. I was literarily blown away by this little old town with its stilt houses and alleyways as well as with its friendly people. I do urge anyone to visit the little but great of Perlis and not to let out Kuala Perlis.

👍
@@chommellychommel132 Saya di fahamkan sekarang baru complete Fasa 1, ada banyak lagi sampai Fasa 6.
Sila bersabar ya. Mari ramai ramai kita promote Negeri Perlis yang indah.
We salute the Royal Family of Perlis! Thank you Moonshine and Lemongrass for promoting Perlis! For sure lots of people will visit Perlis after the MCO to recharge themselves.
You bet!
Perlis is like my 2nd home.
I visited this bridge before it was painted.
I like the scenery when i was on the bridge. I love having laksa Perlis in Kuala Perlis and the best Chinese Seafood Hai Tian Restaurant.
That sounds all very good 😀👍
The Royal family of Perlis is very progressive to initiate such projects . Hopefully, more tourists will visit as through your videos, Perlis has its unique charm and authenticity , like an unpolished gem!
I agree, this could be big.
I salute the Royal Family of Perlis!
💯
Thanks Nahbil for taking Moonshine to the gem places we locals don't know. Usually pass Perlis to Thailand. Congrats to the Royal Family.
👍👍👍👍
When Ken and jet lag warriors filming at the bridge still not painting.
Now this bridge colorfull.
Nice.
Yes, it is very new
People do come up with creative things when stuck in lockdown ..
Sir Winston Churchill pernah berkata " You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks"
Yes, I will definitely not throw stones at every dog 😀😀👍
Thank you very much Sir, for promoting this Royal Initiative. We are proud to be Perlisian. Do come and visit us again 🙂

Your videos are extremely informative. They’re not all about food which is great. You could moonlight as a tour guide
Wow, thank you!

Thanks for showing the hidden side of Perlis, thanks again to Nabil & his friends for showing Roger around! Perlis is so underrated...Its time to boost Perlis but yeah just dont over doing it! I just hope they can do something about the rubbish....

Many thanks!
1st mat salleh.....
The bridge will be full with padlocks🔒 when this MCO is over.. who gonna put the 1st padlock.. haha 😅
@@mtzyzy 👍👍👍
A fishing village is just like any other fishing villages around the world.. The aroma, smell, and the surrounding will complement one another to create a complete and unique ammosphe. This is just an initial phase 1 to beautify this place.. To complete the whole project it has to go through 5 phases. These phases including to inculcate the residents on the sense of belonging and how important to keep their environment hygienically clean.
thanks for commenting, I think you are right 👍👍👍
Looks like LegoLand😍
The fact that the locals involved n do the painting is awesome ✨
I think so too. A very good idea
Wow, this is a great idea! Kudos to the Perlis Royal Family. Amazing stuff. Love it!

We agree!
I am liking this big time.
cheers I am glad
Nice colorful kampong of Kuala Perlis🇲🇾😍
indeed
Love the water village. Kinda remind me when I lived in Brunei last time. I think every water village had the same problem. Waste disposal.
yes, I agree, I saw this in many other places like this
Wah so colourful n vibrant village. Cool n nice 👍👍👍
Thank you so much 🙂
WOW VERY COLORFUL KAMPUNG 💚♥️💙💛🥰
👍👍👍
Cool paintings. Only a few weeks before there was no paint when the jet lag couple went there.
Yes it was not
Greetings 👋. Nice work at discovering & reviewing some local villages around Kuala perlis, which is currently under some aesthetic makeover to look more vibrant, lively & colorful. The bridge was also nicely painted 😁! Hope that someday it would make a great place to visit although something must be done to the trashes & litters specially one that cames from the sea 🤨. Do hope that others from different states could also emulate these efforts or at least preserved some worthy heritages like something they did in malacca perhaps 😉. Btw, i've watched the vlog where u got some special delivery from the a perlis Royalty..njoyed that one too but couldn't finish all the way back to when you're in thailand haha 😄! Anyway, take care & chill out ✌️!
thanks mate, I appreciate you watching. That bridge was great indeeed
The rubbish problem is mainly coming from the sea and the river which brought the rubbish to the village. I went to Pulau Tuba in Langkawi and found the same problem where the people there do not throw the rubbish but the sea brought the rubbish into the village especially when there is a high tide. The rubbish will stuck there when the tide gets lower. Government needs to think how to solve this problems. Similar to the East coast also, the nice beaches there are polluted by rubbish from other countries like Vietnam, Philippines etc.
Yes, the unfortunately the sea is full of rubbish because so many people everywhere are just throwing it away. There needs to be a new thinking, a new awareness around the globe.
If you believed we have past life, you must be probably from this kampung, ha ha ha, have a nice day, my friend!
Maybe I am, it is possible 😀
Wah seru nya , selamat jalan jalan 😀👍
Thank you, terima kashi
Thanks for this video n thanks for sharing n showing your experience in Kuala Perlis.

Beautiful rainbow 🌈 kampung👍
yeah exactly. I love it
@@yvesthesleeve I love it too 👍
My late grandparents on my mom side were from that village.. most of the people who live there are kinda like related to my family.. seeing that His Royal Highness the Crown Prince does this to my "kampung" really made us the whole family really prowd.. and thank you for your exposure about our village..
it was my pleasure
Beautifully done what a great idea.
Thank you! 😊
Wow..my village. That bridge i use to go to school by bicycle or walking. Before they upgrade that bridge like that, bridge before this made from steel and the floor made from wood and wide just around 4 feet. When high tide kids and teen from all village come to that bridge and jump from that bridge for swimming in that river..😅
Yes, I heard that, one of my friends is also a local. Must be great to jump into the water from there.
@@yvesthesleeve thank for coming here. A lot change happen in that village. Maybe only you a few mat salleh come to that village, now it will become tourist attraction, hope after this pendemic over, people will come to visit perlis make 1 of tourist that must visit in perlis.
@@azuanamran4888 I do hope that too - within reason of course. And for me it is very special, so I should think many people will want to come.
D colorful bridge, that's an attraction.
yes defnitely
Your voice is reminds me of actress Fran Drescher in the 90's sitcom the Nanny, of course you in male version he he I like it

thanks I will next time
Des images vraiment royales!
👍👍👍🙏🙏
So, colourful.... like theme park
👍👍👍👍
Beautiful kampung
👍👍👍👍
Amazing, it is as if time stood still there.
yeah I agree
8:20 - I'm glad I'm the only one who doesn't sound out of breath while walking. I have to say that it's super cool that the Royal Family are behind the beautification of the Kampungs. Leading with style. - Siamese Fighting Fish is what we call them. Beautiful creatures but often sold in terrible conditions, plastic bags hung up, hardly any water etc. That guy had his well looked after in clean water. Those are the males, the females are less attractive. Like most things, the fighting is about who gets to mate!
Yes, the royal family in Perlis is very progressive, that is super cool.
You are now unofficial ambassador of Perlis. Good job
thanks 😀👍
in Bagan Datok, in Perak. they did about the same thing, painted the old shop row in colourful paint...
👍👍👍👍
Woww..nice kampung!
👍👍👍👍
@@yvesthesleeve u and family already come back to KL? Hope everything goes fine..aminn
Very colourful. Love it.
Glad you like it!
That village looks like those sea/island villages in sabah... rare sight on the west coast of the peninsular
That's interesting, It also thought it is very different from everything I saw around here
@jetlagwarriors and @kenabroad was here 2 months ago, and its not painted yet. Good move Perlis. Im pretty sure more tourists to come here soon.
Yes I agree
So colorful......great idea...
I agree
Good intentions to spruce up the place but would be much better if the houses just gets refreshing natural wood staining and original colours!! That would be more easy with the eyes! Love the original Malay kampung houses!! Fighting fishes are mostly now bred for their colour display and pedigree almost like canine shows- championship prizes!
You might be right but it is still kind of cool with the colors.
The traditional values of the village is intact. What has been done was just add vibrant colours theme to the main path of this village. These colourful painted houses along this narrow path created aa a new tourism focul piont to this state. The traditional and heritage values of this village will be preserved. Insya Allah
Si Colourful...👍✌️
👍👍👍👍
After the painting, hopefully they will work on the landscaping.
👍👍👍👍
what a beautiful place, Covid19 pls go away ASAP so I could go to Perlis
👍👍👍
New paint above looked vibrant but the pavement and the waterway need more attention for better tourist attraction.
👍👍👍 still I hope they don't overdo it like in some places in Georgetown and Melaka. It should still be a real town I think .
I love how you describe ❤
I am glad, thanks. Have to return to Perlis eventually.
thank for visit my village
I am honored and happy to do so
i would love to walk in the kampung...like when i was kid
It's nice, would be even nicer without a camera.
I just want to tell you ...be safe and double careful while riding bicycle on the road
thanks, I am always careful, I have kids 😀
How about painting the images of paddy fields...green or yellow.. cool huh
👍👍👍
You too must take good care of yourself and especially your wife n children 😊
Yes we do
u can call this place kuala lumpur as well... hehe.. because lumpur means mud.. there are mud river banks/beach there
Ah, that is interesting
sehr schön.
👍👍👍
I think they should plant more trees n flowers in the village...
yes that's true
I would mind to have a sip of absinthe swiss .. hehe i mean swiss moonshine
😀😀😀 actually there is absinthe moonshine in Switzerland. I have had some before.
I am breeding ikan laga now..haha..today they are 2 weeks old..
Keep it up 😀😀😀
wow ronda-ronda kuala perlis
👍👍👍
i love the colours.. its all so very merry and gay..
👍👍👍
I hope you got an invitation from the Royals, that would be awesome,,,😯
It kind of like was in the air but MCO and we are now leaving to KL, so there will be no meeting this time.
@@yvesthesleeve leaving to KL? You guys not going to Langkawi...😱
I will back to my hometown to visit this colourful place.May I know the colourful bridge name?
I don't remember, it says when we enter the bridge. It is the name of the Raj.
My Kampung.

U see more than me as Malaysian
not sure, maybe for you this is just normal and for me it is really cool
There are water festival in kuala perlis actually, but maybe no more now..
maybe not now because of this pandemic
Yeah
Yeah
I was told that in kuala perlis there is a cottage industry where the whole kampung makes & sell local malay cookies. Is that true?
Yes
Don't know
will u do vlogs in other states too? 🥳🥳
I was planning on it but we will leave the country soon. I think there will be more and more restrictions and after one year we have decided to move on. Will be back in 2022 though and cover the whole rest of the country, especially east coast and Borneo part.
In a funny way, the colours are kinda like lego block colours
😀 I was thinking that too
But i certainly understand the rationale behind it...all bright fun colours that will light up the relatively old-ish wood planks (mostly) of the houses...kudos to the royal team behind this idea ✌️
How far and what kind of transportation are there to get to Perlis from KL? Thanks
You can take ETS from KL to Arau.
About 600km drive from KL to Perlis
By train it is 5:20 hours to Arau, from there everything is very close, there are busses. The bus from KL takes about 8 hours.
They need to improve the landscaping
👍👍👍
Enjoying all your videos. However, I think you have overused the word ‘cool’ . 😜
You're right! Gotta think of a better word 😀
Cavapoo puppy

I’m so sorry you’d been taken to a dirty residential area 😞 😔 😢
Oh no, I thought that was absolutely amazing there. So cool.
Fishing villages are usually so dirty in malaysia
It somehow showing the mentality of the local people there.
@@flyingfox3766 😢
Actually this is only 1st phase of the project, they still have 5 more phases to fully complete the whole project. Let's wait for the full transformation.
Pity u
you pity me? Why?
Sampah bersepah-sepah tu memalukan. Ini akan bagi imej buruk kepada Perlis.
👍👍👍
True, this problem is mainly from the sea and the river which brought the rubbish to the village.
