अहमद जान थिरकवा आज इस संसार में नहीं हैं किन्तु संगीत प्रेमियों के दिल में वे आज भी जीवित हैं और आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए भी वे आदरणीय रहेंगे ।तबला वादन में कोई अन्य कलाकार उनकी बराबरी नहीं कर पाया ।भविष्य के बारे में तो कुछ कहा नहीं जा सकता है ।

Brilliant, look at this man - not concerned with the sensationalist, "visual aspect" that modern tabla players are plagued by today.
His eye's, when the camera focuses on him, non flinching. His only concern, is how his tabla sounds when he plays it.

Wish he could be playing even today. Let his soul play tabla even after a thousand years. His eyes are concentrated at one point. He was playing tabla gloriously. Even at a extremely old age of 90, he is playing merrily in the clip

I met the Tablanawaj of Farukhabad Ustd Ahmedjan & listens to his Tabla Recital at his 85 yes.
Awesome - even at 90 (which is how old he is in the clips) - however, I guess he just never learned to shake his head all over the place, which seems to be the requirement of tabla players today :-D He only played the greatest stuff without making a big drama out of it - Greatest master of tabla
He died in 1976 at the age of 84.

What about anokelal mishra......no one talked about that wizard of tabla
Ya, he was also the greatest in other aspects... He was the master of Na dhin dhin na also, he was a gem of Banaras Gharana... But ustad was known as all rounder bcoz he used to play all gharanas equally... BTW I belong to Pt Samta Prasad Ji's discipline... I respect all gharanas and of their great Maestros.... But nowadays... Tabla players concentrate more on speed and clarity... Not on what things they play!!

What's the rhythmic cycle used at the end, just before it switches to lady talking?
A timestamp cue would be more helpful than "at the end, before it xyz" :D
