I am currently designing a crazy jacquard loom with electromagnetically levitated shuttles and an electromagnetic clutch style heddles. And BLDC tensioners inside the shuttle with wireless communication and machine vision. Also automatic BLDC motor tensioners built into every single strand of the creel for the ultimate level of control.
@@suhani551 The gold is very thin, in a fine narrow thread, which is flat. The silk is held taut and the gold is wrapped in a continuous band spiraling along the thread. It's very similar to the way a bow string is wrapped, or a piece of millenary wire is wrapped with thread.

Normally it was wrapped around a silk thread core, for say "cloth of gold", or "cloth of silver".
