Brother Abdulkareem is absolutely right about converting to Islam, convert when you get the right feelings, when you know much about Islam, when you trust that decision and you'd be 100% sure about it. Converting to Islam is your thing and yours only, forget about all the world and remember that you won't do it for them but you're doing it for yourself.

Bro just a clarification, for engagement, the man is allowed to see the woman, sit down and talk when her father, older brother or uncle are there (this will prevent the man from doing things he shouldn't be doing) before doing any type of contract, what you described is more of a culture and tradition.

Thank you for bringing us joy with your sweet personality 💕.
One thing I have to clarify regarding " marriage or finding a wife" , it's not prohibited to talk or interact with women in a respectful manner ," I see non Muslims think that talking to a Muslim woman is a no no " .
You of course can spend time trying to know someone before moving on to the engagement , what is prohibited is intimacy before marriage.
And you can see her face " if she's covered " in the first meeting , that's a well accepted custom .
This benefits both individuals ( male&female ) .
Although the rules of Islam are clear .
there are some things that weren't explained specifically in Quran or Hadith , this made different interpretations by scholars " with different backgrounds " each of them has/had a different opinion or view from the others , that doesn't mean one is right and the others are wrong .
You can notice that some regions follow 1 approach more than the others .
My big advice for any one wants to know about Islam , read the Quran, the " authentic " Hadith , and listen to various scholars " there're extremists who prohibit anything in a fear that it will lead to a great sin , and there're moderates " don't stick to 1 type.
Take your time until you're completely convinced.

As for our brother, I advice him to read the Quran sincerely with an open unbiased mind, if he couldn't understand anything my advice is to go to mosque & ask his questions. We as moslems we love Jesus & all the rest of the prophets but the Quran told us the the previous books has been corrupted, a lot of Christian scholars will tell you so.....!!
