It was on the AMIGA and SNES so it probably could as they used custom sound chips but it wouldn't sound very good because they would have to save it in the lowest stereo PCM for it to be able to fit on a SNES cart or AMIGA disk as theme music or you'll have to import a good quality PCM into a tracker that supports good PCM quality and save it as the tracker format for it to compress the good PCM sound into high quality AMIGA/SNES with lower file size.

if they remade "Chuck Rock" the programmers WOULD use this as the title theme. Chuck Rock's main theme is synthesized in the game because at the time you couldn't just record a guitar's riffs and import them into a game, however you can do it now! So if the programmers of a "Chuck Rock" remake would definitely use this metal cover of the song as the main theme!

The main thing you couldn't do was streaming audio, which you can do now. Audio had to be synthesised, or based on short sample playback, because there simply wasnt the storage, processing power, or memory availability in the systems of the time. Nowadays you can play back an MP3 in the background without even thinking about it :)
