Incase of theft, the airbnb customer support will be able to give you all the details and the identity of your guests to hand over to the police. Install camera everywhere but the bedroom web camera can work for you, you can connect it on your phone, such that whenever you get the guests you keep checking on the phone to see if there's anything suspicious. So sorry about that dear 🇺🇬

I have a 2bedroom in Lavington and Garden Estate , Thome. I don't host less than 3 days. And less than 5k a day. Also, we have someone who checks them out and in.. Hii biashara , ukitaka ulcers host 1 day. Ive had towels stolen, na ni zile Za 6k, bedsheets, burning of shower heads, broken cups. If you host through abnb, they have insurence and they pay you, but ukileta walk in, you go off pocket.. Even the cost of power, cleaning and is half the amount earned.. and reporting to cops is a waste of time. Hawa watu hukula pamoja sometimes
If you can get a clear photo of those guys, then probably post on social media and propose a reward. I will get information about those guys within minutes
I always pay deposit in an AIR BNB where I stay and full payment for what ever days I will be there. They come and check the place before I check out they even count the spoons. When everything is intact,they give me back my deposit. Its a good idea the security guard to be checking the guest suitcases. Sorry, watu ni wabaya sana. Pole sana eve. Your suggestion and what the thieves did are both wrong, there are better solutions to this, such as only allowing guests who are screened by AirBnB and those booking online though the website, and avoiding agents.
