40 Years Celebrations - Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway's Autumn Steam Gala - 09/09/23

Finally caved and took a visit to the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway for their autumn steam gala whilst also celebrating 40 years of operation as a heritage railway. The gala wasn't without delay but I thoroughly enjoyed the line and the locomotives in traffic that day! It's a very good line for line siding and contains fascinating scenery from years long gone. It was nice to see a familiar face (1054 & Keighley Gas Works No 2) and some new faces (Blaenavon's home fleet and Furness Railway No 20)
and I thought the day out was worth it but if I do another I shall attend 2 days instead of just the one. The one thing I must say is the Journey back home from Newport is a long and painful story.

*Gloucester Station Staff for booking a taxi for me to get a coach from Cheltenham Spa to Birmingham New Street home due to delayed/cancelled trains
The coach driver that took me from Birmingham New Street to Nottingham for free preventing me from getting stranded for the night!

Great video, of what looks like a great gala too! I wish I could have been there. Oh well, there is always next year. Maybe Lambton 29 will make a visit?
