I don't get why people are so mean to "privileged" kids.
I mean, I AM jealous of her, I do wish my parents could afford these things, but I'm also super happy for her. She seems like such a nice and sweet person.
Get mad at rich kids with shitty attitudes, not at this awesome girl who does not just rely on her parents money but is trying to build herself a future.
Education is soooo important, and it's great to see that even people who can easily afford it still take it seriously.

Not everyone is just born with money. Her parents must've worked fucking hard to get where they are and afford the life that they live. So all you haters sat at home bitching about people who've worked their asses off to get the money they deserve think again. And to those of you saying that you're 'poor' what are you using to type your nasty comment with? A smartphone? An iPhone?? A laptop, computer, iPad or tablet?! All bought with someone's money, maybe your own, maybe not. It doesn't matter.

People are complaining about the amount of money her parents spend in her but they work hard for the money they earn so why shouldn't they be able to spend it on expensive things?!, yes there are people in the world who can't afford food and things like that but that isn't her fault, her family are hard working, there is nothing at all wrong with this, such an amazing video she's so lucky and you can tell she is so so grateful for everything she has received so just stop with the hate.
people commenting on how this video motivates them to work harder etc makes me cringe and laugh at the same time. the truth is, in this day and age (and keep in mind the ever increasing income gap), most people here will not have an opportunity to become this wealthy, not necessarily because you dont work hard enough, but because you just weren't born into it. (research the current prices of decent homes in london and do the math) Sure her parents have professional jobs and all but the reality is, no one rarely gets incredibly rich anymore unless you come from money. As Jess mentioned in her video, she IS blessed, and is probably from a posh family with lots of connections, fixed income, and trust funds to begin with so this kind of lifestyle is natural for her whereas someone who comes from normal background with a decent job cannot lead this kind of lavish lifestyle. thats the end of. LIFE IS UNFAIR AND IT ALWAYS WILL BE. why can't we just all appreciate what we do have? I'm sure you lot watched this video on laptop/smartphone which would be very luxurious from a pov of people in developing countries.
I don't understand why everyone's shocked that she's got loads of expensive gifts... her parents are a lawyer AND a doctor, so it's not difficult to work out that she comes from a wealthy family. Her mum also owns a farm house, it's not like she's hiding this stuff from us lol

Lol why people put too much hate on her. She is wealthy and get over it. It's her life and her family can afford those things for her too. For people who said "it is because high end brand! She can't accept things from primark etc." If you see her old video of her closet confession, her favourite top was a peplum top FROM PRIMARK. Some people here just full of negativity. She's not spoiled and it's not unfair that she can afford this stuff and most of us can't- it's not exactly her fault that she's privileged but what isn't fair is that people are hating on her becomes of what she got! Maybe this year you'll get something nice and expensive. She's not showing off either- like she so as at the beginning, it was popular last year and highly requested and so she did another one. She's doing it for us as subscribers she's not doing it for anyone else and she didn't have to do it so be grateful that she's spent time filming this when she could've spent it with her family.

Please do one of these again Jess! There are always gonna be people who are gonna find something negative to say, no matter what you do. And yes, most aren't as lucky as you are, but that shouldn't make you feel bad / ashamed or as if you can't be open about it. Because you're not braggy about it AT ALL! You're super humble. To be honest, this video is extremely big motivation for me. I'm really happy for you Jess but watching your Christmas presents' videos usually make me more driven to work hard in school haha. Happy New Year :D
An additional point that the clear-minded people here haven't yet pointed out (I think) is that if you earn a lot of money and all you do is hoard it in a dark room, than that is equally as silly as using it recklessly. So spend it on yourself! Spend it on your daughters! They worked hard to be this rich and not have to worry about having to buy the cheapest option possible like many of us. Also, I am sure that Jess' mum is NOT reckless with her money, and is careful that she is always earning more than she is spending, is saving up for the future, etc.
I actually admire Jess' mum for being an incredible parent. Despite being rich, she has raised such a sensible, humble daughter. That is no small feat. The rich people that DO annoy me are the ones who let it get too their heads and become arrogant and narcissistic and shallow. Jess does not strike me in the SLIGHTEST to be one of those people, because of what I just mentioned about her amazing parents. She comes off as intelligent, humble, good-natured, and WAY more appreciative about her education than most of the people I know, in that she cares about LEARNING, rather just getting a degree for the sake of getting one.
So if you find yourself still boiling in bitterness about her privilege, than you really need to start educating YOURSELF, and start imagining the world more complexly than you do.

this is more stuff than I've ever gotten as presents for every single birthday ever...I didn't even get any gifts for the past four birthdays. damn
I've come back to this video after seeing a query as to why she didn't post a birthday haul and I've found a very interesting dialogue below. As a student, I think the fault lies neither with Jess nor with her viewers (well some of them have said unsavoury things). I am a big CZcams fan and what I love most is when they mention products or experience things that I can relate to, I think that's why we all love it because it's an "ordinary" person just like us, as opposed to something manufactured and packaged on TV. I also think it's a pretty cool niche on CZcams to have a young person who is educated about high fashion brands, it's what makes Jess' channel unique. Unfortunately she does have a responsibility of not alienating her audience who will come from a range of backgrounds and who unfortunately may never even get to touch a YSL bag in their entire lifetime no matter how "hard" they work.
I agree, and "hard" work is never actual hard work, but nepotism and years of privilege building up. Doesn't everybody know this by now? I work in the art world and boy you realize that FAST.

This is just a general comment regarding anyone who uses the word jealous/jealousy in any of the comments. Please use the right word. It's envy/envious. Envy means 'to want something someone else has'. Jealousy means 'to fear someone taking someone away from you (like your boyfriend)'. - it generally involves three people.

It saddens me to see so many jealous people on here. She is obviously very privileged, something she is very aware of. If her family can afford such beautiful presents why shouldn't they buy them for her. People should be thrilled for her not envious.
please please please do christmas haul again... this one is the most enjoyable haul i have ever seen.
People worked their ass off to be able to afford nice stuff and to spoil their kids. By the end of the day, everyone is working for money not belief. If people work hard and earn more, why can't they spend the money in whatever way they want? When we are watching haul videos on Ytb, there might be people working their ass off reading books to get a better degree. If people could live equally without working hard towards good education and good job, then everyone will be laying in bed everyday. A NBA player pays 10K to live in a hotel for one night, but they also suffers so much pain from playing. I just don't understand why there are always people jealous or angry about other people's way of spending money.
