0:34 - THE MOST HEARTBREAKING moment for me in entire Supernatural universe (and there are sooo/tooo many) - Dean remembers Heaven and knows it's supposed to be ... well, Heavenly. So he is sitting in some dark, dirty, disgusting room, hurting like hell most likely, but to him it's honestly the best place he can imagine because Sammy is there. Can you imagine how much he loves Sam if he genuinely believes that this place is his Heaven?

@@mackenzieskye6685 well, he realized he was dead because he was seeing Sam who's dead. But the point is that he thought this is Heaven despite knowing Sam was in hell. The logical conclusion should have been to believe he's in hell, but for him it can't be hell if Sam is there. It must be heaven.
The dude literally took a drive in Heaven until Sam showed up. Sam was his everything.
They should have kissed at least once.
Rewatching the scene you can tell something’s wrong with Sam when he shows no emotion when he sees Dean and his eyes look so cold like no feeling whatsoever

His tone too. The way he says "I'm sorry" seems emotionless. Not the usual sound he makes everytime he gives touching messages or advices.
Both of these guys are superb actors.
I never knew that as well @unicornkhan3792. It’s a good thing Death was able to restore Sam soul back but as he started remembering that wall broke tearing them protective barriers away for his protection. Good thing Amara never succeeded on eating Sam soul then he would forever be soulless. Glad that didn’t happen to him. He’s been through a lot and Dean.

that hug was what tipped me off. look at every other winchester hug, then look at this one again. neither of them are shy with their hugs. they throw themselves into it, like they're scared to let go. whereas here, soulless sam looked like he was thinking "okay, how long am I supposed to hold the hug?"
I agree with you but I also think he knew the hug was coming and was like " okay here come the hug" like he was totally expecting it, it's funny you compare this hug to the hug in 6x12, when he is really back, with his soul,Sam is the one who start the hug and he is really REALLY into it ( that sounded less creepy in my head ) with his eyes closed.He act way more like Dean is acting right in this video...

Rewatching this scene makes me want to really compliment the directors and Jared Padalecki's acting . Now that I know Sam is soulless this scene makes much more sense .. Also the ending scene where Sam refuses Impala's keys ... I just rewatched the episode in whole new light .
Every time I watch this I cannot get over the fact that Dean has his shirt tucked in (1:45). It cracks me up because its so not him lol & also as soon as he wakes up and sees Sam, he thinks he's died and gone to heaven ^-^.

I feel really sad rewatching this episode because now I know that it's soulless Sam and that Sam is actualy still in the cage being tortured by Lucifer for maybe six month more ( earth time )....And Dean saying he wanted his brother alive make me even sadder because he still doesn't have his brother alive, or at least not complete...
Souless Sam's smile is kind of creepy.....

Actually it was technically Sam's soul being tortured in the cage. And this Sam was body. I'd say his real consciousness wasn't anywhere. He was split. Because when the real Sam wakes up he has to kill both parts of him to get back his consciousness. So he kinda absorbed the memories of his soul being tortured like he absorbed the memories of what his soulless self was doing.
I'm grateful he was resurrected immediately. The thought of Sam being tortured horribly is a gut wrenching. Glad Cas pulled him out.
Amber XV his soul was him though still being tortured for 180 years it's not quickly.
@@wolfgirl657 yeah I know. But i mean he couldn't remember until later. Because he was resurrected by Cas when his soul was being tortured.
I knew something wasn't right when Sam didn't even shed a tear that he saw Dean. I thought I was just being paranoid because when Dean came back from Hell, I thought that was all an illusion and didn't wanna' get my hopes up that he really was back.
But somehow , I knew ... I knew something wasn't right with Sam. =/

This is the saddest scene of supernatural (I've seen so far), but it's also one of the happiest scenes when Sam gets his soul back and they make up for the hug that wasn't there in the first place.
That's the most emotionless hug of these two.

Jared did such a job at having Sam really seem dead inside with his eyes.
Well not really...he's acting...so that Dean is not alarmed. He even says later while soulless that he doesn't really care about Dean...but since he has all of Sam's thoughts and memories...he knows enough to pretend/play the part...kind of like how demons possess people but can pretend they are the person exactly. In this form....Sam does not care at all about Dean..he is just keeping up appearances and using Sam's memories to interact with Dean. He's basically just pretending to care.
The silence of the background works well this scene because yo get the raw vibes and emotions
I knew something was off the moment Sam didn't immediately run to Dean and hug him and ask if he was okay.
I Know Right! Sam doesn't realize that he is Dean's family and no one can take his place.
the swag how sam says its kinda hard to look for what saved you when you got no leads.
It was his excuse.. he says later how he's been pretending so he didn't tip Dean off that something was wrong. He says he doesn't care about Dean in 6x08. Soulless Sam didn't want to hunt with Dean. so the whole "giving him a family" was just his excuse.

Actually if you see, he presses the nonsharp part of the blade, but uses the tip to make the cut, that way he does not cut himself anymore then needed.
Okay, so I know Sam is supposed to be 'soulless' here, but... that thing with the holy water? Still funny. "All me. ...That's nasty." Even soulless, he still has a killer sense of humor! lol
I'm only on Season 2 at the moment but I already knew that at some point Sam was supposed to be Soulless after the whole Hell thing but I didn't know when, so when I saw this scene here I already knew that something was off. Sam's smile and the way he said "oh I'm real" and that hug was just completely off-character

Season 6 in hindsight was really good. A bit slow burn but it was a nice reset after Season 5.

This scene kinda confuses me, this is Sammy with out a soul right? Why would Sammy without a soul not tell Dean he was back just to give Dean the life he always wanted? That's something Sam with a soul would do.

I feel like the writers straight up forgot that they said a year passed between the end of 5 and the beginning of 6. Because they're still right on our timeline and always have been. That really bugs me y'all.
It doesn't work like that. A season of 22 episodes doesn't account to a whole year. So a 22 episodes could pass then a year timeskip and they'd still be on our time-line. A year also passed when Dean was in purgatory. 4 months passed when he was dead. When there isn't a timeskip between seasons, they can still skip time between hunts like say this hunt is after weeks.
