Not to dismiss the idea, but in context, it would appear he is being mockingly ironic in order to ridicule the media to some degree.

Seriously, he's on point about the clone behavior. Note the handler trying to help it act human. And not having much success. They can't do steps, don't have emotions, and are very erratic. Very obvious to those who have researched them.
