It's better not to but if you have 0 choice, use ice cold water, very little dark clothes washing detergent and in the bathtub inside out you wanna wash them by splashing them inside and out the water. I take 2 small screwdrivers, and tuck them under the metal in between the rubber piece on each opposite side and twist and turn until it pops off. It's tricky, sometimes I have to use a pocket knife when its so tightly closed, and sometimes I make a tiny slash by accident so its a risk, but I find that metal so corny its worth removing for me haha. You just gotta be extra careful is all.

I can still easily tell. New Amiris are super cheap so those are easily faked but the original pairs still hard to fake
